It has been forever tainted by bloody twilight and the awful Renesme! But that might be just me.

ButteredToastAndStrawberryJam · 11/07/2016 19:59

Lovely name.

HettyB · 11/07/2016 20:31

I really like it, but the two different pronunciations puts me off (Ez-may and Ez-mee). I'd pronounce it Ez-may, but you may find some people will go for the opposite pronounciation to the one you intend. So it depends on whether you're ok with correcting people/accepting that some will get it 'wrong'!

Beautiful

It was originally a man's name and still is in France although it's not a common one -- the feminine version should be spelled Esmée, it seems.
I think it will date badly, I'm afraid...

SirNiallDementia · 11/07/2016 22:45

I think it's really pretty BUT there are so many Esme's round here, it must be the number 1 most common girl's name at the moment. And parents are always having to correct pronunciation (Ez-mee vs Ez-may).
