Beatrice means 'bringer of joy'

Abigail means 'father's joy'

I prefer Rose Beatrice as the meaning is slightly more to my taste. DH likes the meanings but not keen on either middle name.

Rose is a gorgeous first name op. I love it. Classic and beautiful. I would go with Rose Beatrice. I think it gives the name some weight and substance and history. But then I've never been a fan of Abigail, it just doesn't flow as well, quite a choppy name.

troysmammy - err, just because I like want to use Rose as a first name, that doesn't mean I wouldn't want a middle name??? I am specifically on here to talk about middle names. I have two other DDs and they both have middle names, which are family names that have a special meaning to us. I'd like to choose a middle name with a special meaning for this one. I don't have a middle name myself and I do wish I had one.

lighthouse - I meant NW! Sorry! Grin

areyoubeingserviced - would love to use Joy, but it's my SIL's middle name and I asked her if she'd be okay with it and she wasn't really - she wants to use it as a first name for any child she has in the future, and I think she felt weird about it. Also think Rose Joy sounds a little bit like a perfumed soap Grin

wintersummer - I LOVE the middle name Eleanor - so much, my DD2 has it already Smile

Rose Beatrice is absolutely beautiful.

Not keen on Abigail.

I think Rose Beatrice flows with our surname, actually (two syllables, beginning with B, stress on the first syllable). The whole thing is quite bouncy but I think it works. Now to convince DH ...

Rose Abigail would be my preference from your choices and I love Rose as a first name. Will the second name be just for the birth cert or are you planning on using it as part of the name?

If I'd had a girl I would have called her Rose Elizabeth. Love Rose as a first name.

Out of your choices I prefer Rose Abigail

I prefer Rose Beatrice. I prefer the sound and meaning.

Rose is a lovely first name. It seems really fresh but still classically beautiful, which is hard to achieve. I actually feel the same way about Beatrice:)

Oooh I love Rose Elizabeth
