Iris or Florence?

Middle name Winifred

I like Florence Winifred.

Are you okay with people saying "Florrie" for short? I like it, but do you?

Sorry double yuck imo. Nn Flo is just beyond awful...sounds like a toilet.

I prefer Florence, like the nickname florrie but don't like the nickname Flo.
Iris is nice too but I have an aunt called iris and I just remember as children we could never say her name properly. My sister used to call her 'auntie Ass'

How funny, my great aunts were Iris and Florence. I would choose Iris because the two Florence's I know/knew got called Flo for short (not very nice).

I know a little Florence and my great nan was also Florence. Both had/have the nickname Flossie.

Ps we've always introduced her as Florence. Nobody has ever shortened it ... Yet

I think Iris is an absolutely lovely name

I love both names. I wanted Florence for my DD but couldn't. It is very popular now but I still like it. Equally I think Iris is gorgeous.

My dd2 was nearly Iris and I still like it.
