Initials problem

Our 6 week old boy has 2 middle names because we just couldn't decide... However I've regretted it ever since he was registered as I think 2 middle names is a bit of a hassle and I'm not even sure they go. Was a last minute decision on the way to registry office to have 2 (one family name and another name we love) our last name is a traditional boys name too so to me it just sounds like a list of 4 boys names and it's really getting to me! We're thinking of dropping one but that would make his initials A.M.E - my partner has a thing about having good initials (he hates his) and says he doesn't want our little boy being called Amy! I don't think it's a problem...

We can't agree... We both think his name sounds too long but don't want to drop the other middle name instead.

He now just wants to change the middle name altogether.

Has anyone changed their babies birth certificate? It makes me feel a bit bad. And also do you think AME are bad initials for a boy?!

Yes it could be. It's not worth taking the risk. Can you not juggle the names around or add another one.

As long as their initials aren't kkk or bnp or something like that I think you're fine. I have 2 middle names and can honestly say the impact on my life has been very very minimal - it takes marginally longer to fill out passport forms - that's about it.

IMO AME is fine, I don't see Amy at all. It could be worse, we can't have vowels starting middle names or we get things like PIG or HOG.

AME is absolutely fine.
Two middle names are absolutely fine- I speak from experience.
There is no wrong move here.

AME isn't bad - I love a couple of 'A' names for our impending DD but middle name is set to Sally (DH's mum's name, she's passed away) and our surname begins with an S. Initials would be ASS. Do I love the name enough to give my daughter those initials? Is it really important?!

I was going to be an ASS, Seeking, so my parents registered me as SAS, and always called me A.

I think he's just overthought it as he has hated his initials all his life so doesn't want to pass the same burden onto bubba even if it's not really bad at all. I think we should prob just stick with the 2 middle names and he can choose if he wants to drop one when he's older...

AME doesn't spell Amy though - more like Aim. DD is called Amy and we've had many spellings of her name over the last 5 years, but never Ame.

2 middle names is fine too though. Me, my dcs and siblings all have 3 given names + surname.
