Unusual boys name, what do people think?

So my husband and I are expecting our 2nd son in 3 weeks.
Our little boy is called Sawyer, so not a traditional name, so we was after a name for our 2nd son along the same lines.

The name we've heard this week for our 2nd son is Loxley or Locksley.
What do people think to this is it to unsusal?
Thanks in advance

I don't like it at all. But if you and your dh like it that's all that matters.

delilabell · 25/06/2016 20:08

Ooh I like that! (I have got a 6week old and am exceptionally hormonal though!)
I think it goes well with ds's name too

sooperdooper · 25/06/2016 20:10

I really like it :) yes it's unusual but I think it's lovely! I like Sawyer too

I wouldnt use it but thats just by taste. If you are going to use it I would spell it the first way. The second spelling looks quite clumsy. It is Robin Hoods name he was referred to as Robin of Loxley as that is the village he was from. Our cat used to be called Loxley as he was found abandoned as a kitten in Sherwood Forest (random fact you didn't ask for)

My not by

WeekendAway · 25/06/2016 20:12

i like it.

Newes · 25/06/2016 20:13

I know one Loxley. It is a lovely name.

DerelictMyBalls · 25/06/2016 20:28

Loxley sounds like the kind of name that people who named their son Sawyer would like.

Paintedhandprints · 25/06/2016 20:29

I like Loxley and Sawyer. Lovely.

BikeRunSki · 25/06/2016 20:30

I like it, but spot Loxley. The other way looks very cumbersome, and people will default to Loxley anyway as it is a fairly well used place name.

Tiggeryoubastard · 25/06/2016 20:31

Fucking awful. Why would you do that?

Tiggeryoubastard · 25/06/2016 20:31

Derelict. Grin

BeautifulMaudOHara · 25/06/2016 20:32

Ewww, no

Hastalapasta · 25/06/2016 20:33

Hope that you have given them boring more mainstream middle names that they can use if they prefer! Sounds fine, will be Locks or Locky for short? possibly Goldie locks? Would also google the name incase anything negative is associated with it.....

SonicSpotlight · 25/06/2016 20:36

I'm not a huge fan of surname style first names but Sawyer is really nice. Loxley isn't as nice and for some reason neither spelling looks quite right.

AveEldon · 25/06/2016 20:37

Loxley is a better spelling imho

EllenDegenerate · 25/06/2016 20:39

Not to my taste but perfectly acceptable.
Undeserving of derision.

lornathewizzard · 25/06/2016 20:44

I actually like it, and I'm not a great fan of 'weird' names. Spelt with the X though.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 25/06/2016 20:45

Those names are hilarious!!!Grin

CPtart · 25/06/2016 20:52

Dreadful. But your choice.

OSETmum · 25/06/2016 21:01

I quite like it, but only when spelt the first way.

RedLarvaYellowLarva · 26/06/2016 00:14

Love Sawyer and Loxley (prefer x to ck spelling). Do it!
Huxley is also cool.
What other names do you like?

SuburbanRhonda · 26/06/2016 00:16

Out if interest, how is Sawyer pronounced? Is it like soya?

PeppasNanna · 26/06/2016 00:24

I like both names but then again one of my dc is a Levi.

septembersunshine · 26/06/2016 07:00

It sounds like a hard syllabled surname. I like Sawyer though. Wyatt goes better with Sawyer. I don't think Loxley it's in the same league as Sawyer. It's quite an odd 'name' imo and I think it's just a little too strange. Up to you though. I am having a second boy in two months and naming is HARD!
