Unusual boys name, what do people think?

So my husband and I are expecting our 2nd son in 3 weeks.
Our little boy is called Sawyer, so not a traditional name, so we was after a name for our 2nd son along the same lines.

The name we've heard this week for our 2nd son is Loxley or Locksley.
What do people think to this is it to unsusal?
Thanks in advance

as radio 4 archers listener, I immediately thought of Lower Loxley which is a place in the Archers.

nectarini1983 · 26/06/2016 07:09

I really like it!

Aj2013saw · 26/06/2016 07:12

Thank you
We like Wyatt and also Cohan (but found out it can cause offence to Jewish people).
My husband like Brady and Peyton (but I think peyton is a girls name)

SurburbanRhonda, yes like that. We got it from the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn novels, Tom Sawyer

If you and your DH like the name then you don't need anyone's approval!
Like others I prefer the Loxley spelling but again personal preference just.

SorenLorensonsInvisibleFriend · 26/06/2016 07:37

Really? No-one has said that they wouldn't be able to say the name without doing their best toe-curling impression of Alan Rickman-as-Sheriff-Nottingham.... "Loxxxxxxxleeeeeey?"

What about Nigel?

Wheresthattomoibabber · 26/06/2016 08:22

I met a Bexley the other day. Although he was a musician trying to escape from his job in a mobile phone shop so it is possible it's not his birth name.

TutanKaDashian · 26/06/2016 08:23

Both awful.

Aj2013saw · 26/06/2016 08:24

No never listened to Archers, although I do like the drink..

Peyton isn't a 'girls' name it's a surname which was used for a girl in one tree hill. Grin

Rainbowqueeen · 26/06/2016 08:28

What about Logan or Riley?

I don't hate it but it just feels like a name that he would always have to be spelling

Love Brady!

Ememem84 · 26/06/2016 08:32

Is Dh a fan of American football?

Peyton Manning and Tom Brady?

I like sawyer. Not keen on loxley. But if you guys love it that's all that matters

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/06/2016 08:34

If you abbreviate Loxley to "Lox", please bear in mind that it's Yiddish for "salmon".

WeekendAway · 26/06/2016 08:38
Grin
KoalaDownUnder · 26/06/2016 08:39

No, it sounds awful.

With Sawyer, how about:

Flynn
Digby
Harlan
Marlow

albertcampionscat · 26/06/2016 08:40

What MrsSchadenfreude said - bagel with lox and cream cheese.

Aj2013saw · 26/06/2016 08:43

Yes he's NFL fan...
And I found out about the Lox connection to salmon after posting this...
Not sure what to call baby.
Thanks everyone for their opinions good and bad Smile

Wait a minute
The character in one tree hill was called peyton sawyer
Definitely a no there

Aj2013saw · 26/06/2016 09:17

Yes I know, used to watch it, told my hubby this when he mention Peyton as a name... That's another reason I didn't want that name. Thank you

Not sure about Loxley (has to be an x, I think!). Sawyer and Sullivan, maybe?

Go with your gut feeling, op. Nothing awful about Loxley. Depends on surname, too.

Porcupinetree · 26/06/2016 11:21

I like both names OP, but they do remind me of Sawyer and Locke in the 00's tv show Lost.
