Hello!

We are expecting no. 4 who is a girl and we already have 3 boys.

I'm (rather surprisingly!) finding it really difficult to pick her name. I think we have it narrowed down to two possibilities but I keep swinging between the two. I've researched each name extensively so I'm aware of all the potential issues with them both - but I can't seem to find any alternatives that I like as much!

So either:

Ophelia or Primrose

Middle name is almost certainly going to be Elizabeth. Our surname is very ordinary and isnt an issue with either.

Our boys names are Harry, Theodore & Rupert.

Would appreciate any thoughts! Thanks Smile

Primrose Elizabeth

LemonBreeland · 22/06/2016 13:57

I prefer Ophelia. Primrose seems a bit soppy. Ophelia is a lovely strong name and I think it sits nicely with your boys names.

Primrose is top of my list of this baby is a girl! Lovely name Smile

VioletBam · 22/06/2016 13:58

I wanted Primrose for DD2 but DH wouldn't have it. So I say that.

I love it. She may get called Primmie but I like that too!

Ophelia is nice but I can't get past the fact that the character went mad and drowned herself.

RaeSkywalker · 22/06/2016 13:58

... I also like Ophelia but I'd be put off by the Shakespearean tragedy connotations!!

CourtJester · 22/06/2016 15:28

Primrose definitely!

Ophelia reminds me of 'awful' when i say it out loud.

Pipilangstrumpf · 22/06/2016 15:47

I much prefer Ophelia - it sounds beautiful, feminine and works in other languages too.

Primrose sounds like a washing up liquid to my ears and not very feminine at all. It also won't travel well into other (european) languages.

Honeybee79 · 22/06/2016 16:22

I like Orphelia, but am also slightly put off by the literary history!

1horatio · 22/06/2016 16:27

I agree with honeybee. I prefer the sound of Ophelia but don't associate it with positive things. But Primrose is a bit... Cutesy. But it is a very charming name. Plus I like flower names.
So... Idk. i'm probably not helping....

Love Ophelia!

I find Primrose a bit too cutsey for my taste.

BoboBunnyH0p · 23/06/2016 14:48

Not much help, I like them both.

WellErrr · 23/06/2016 14:53

Love Ophelia!
