Azalea

Very stressed about finding the perfect baby name for our little girl due in October,

me and the mr LOVE Azalea (like the flower).. but would everyone instantly think of that female rapper? cause if that's what springs to mind everytime her names called out its a big no!

if anyone has any suggestions also that would be fab! being very picky here but id like it to be unusual, pretty and girly, and not too short!

If you love Azalea, go for it. I've never heard of the rapper so the only association for me is the flower, which is beautiful.

I know an Acacia, which is in a similar vein.

Azalea! I like it. Although my first thought (after the flower) was Azalea Banks, then Iggy Azalea. Also seeing it written down I can't think but say 'Azzalee!'!

Just recently someone I know used that name and I thought instantly of Iggy and asked if she was a fan. She isn't. Sorry.

Never heard of the rapper, but I have a colleague who had a DD called Azalea. She must be about 2 now. I'd never heard of it as a dust babe before, but loved it when I first heard it, and still do now. Please use it!

Never heard of it as anything other than the name of a flower, it's lovely btw.

Both rappers will have laughably short careers (and one is pronounced a-zee-lia anyway) but for the time being you might get "hey! I can be the answer!" Or WORSE "iggy iggy too biggy to be stressin"

There are floral names I prefer but if you like it, go for it as in five or so years the famoud namesakes'll be pop history

It's a lovely name, unusual and pretty. I've never heard of the rapper.

That aside it's quite pretty. I think Aster is prettier though.

Tis a nice name but my first thought is Banks who is just a nasty piece of work, and Iggy. Sorry OP. One day they won't be as relevant anymore though and it won't follow your DD through life either way so if you like it then go for it!
