Our baby girl is due in 5 weeks time and we can't narrow down the 4 names we like any further!
We're just after people's opinions on which they prefer please!

The names are:
Amelia
Evangeline
Evelyn
Isabella

Thanks in advanceSmile

Oh DEFINITELY Evangeline! It's really beautiful. Ameli and Isabella are waaaaaay dull, they are everywhere, I know 2 sets of twins with these names, as it happens.
Evelyn is ok (eve-lyn or ev-a-lyn?), but I prefer Evangeline by a mile.

InanimateCarbonRod · 16/06/2016 13:54

A vote for Evangeline here too. It's beautiful.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 16/06/2016 13:58

I know it's over used but Amelia is the prettiest. Followed by Isabella.
Not fussed on Evangeline and I don't get the hype about Evelyn. I'd go as far as to say. It's the most horrible girls name out there

TheNaze73 · 16/06/2016 14:01

Isabella is such a beautiful name. Not so keen on the others

juneau · 16/06/2016 14:02

Amelia and Isabella are very popular. Amelia also means 'has no arms and legs', which would put me off using it tbh.

So I'd go with Evangeline or Evelyn. They'll probably both get shortened to Evie, which is also very popular, but the long forms are less so, and will age well IMO.

DramaAlpaca · 16/06/2016 14:03

Another vote for Evangeline, beautiful name.

The others are nice names, but popular.

They are all names which will get shortened, so to help you narrow your list down you could think about whether you like Milly, Evie, Izzy or Bella best, just as nickname examples.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 16/06/2016 14:08

I'm not fond of evangeline as I'm not religious.

I like eve-lyn but not ev-lyn or ev-uh-lyn
So I would probably avoid due to the many ways people say it.

Amelia is cute, but I don't like the medical association.

Isabella is pretty. But it's the only shared name ds had in his class of 30, through primary school.
(Ds isn't called Isabella. ..)

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 16/06/2016 14:10

Love Isabella and it has many lovely shortening so too ☺️

LadyAntonella · 16/06/2016 15:04

Definitely Evangeline. Smile

KoalaDownUnder · 16/06/2016 15:09

Evangeline.

Amelia and Isabella are way overused.

I actively dislike Evelyn.

Maverick66 · 16/06/2016 15:15

Isabella is a beautiful timeless name. I once knew a very elegant lady who oozed grace and style. She was called Isabella but her family affectionately shortened it to Isa .

Sophronia · 16/06/2016 16:06

Evangeline, followed by Isabella.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/06/2016 16:10

Isabella

oldlaundbooth · 16/06/2016 16:11

Evelyn.

Feminine but strong.

Isabella sounds too Disney.

weegiemum · 16/06/2016 16:13

What about the less common Eveline (EE-v-lin). I love that name, a relative has it and can go by Evie, Evvy or Eve as well as the full name.

BoboBunnyH0p · 16/06/2016 16:38

I vote Evangeline, it's my DD middle name, we love both her names and only decided the order once we met her.
Amelia and Isabella are very popular at the moment.

pilates · 16/06/2016 18:29

All nice, except Evelyn which I dislike.

Nospringflower · 16/06/2016 19:12

Really not keen on Evelyn. Amelia and Isabella nice but v popular so Evangeline for me too!

Mottled · 16/06/2016 19:55

Evelyn or Evangeline.

CheerfulYank · 16/06/2016 19:56

Evangeline! Love it. Evie, Lena, Van for a cool teen...

septembersunshine · 16/06/2016 21:14

I like Evangeline and she could be Evie for short. Amelia. Umm.. well, I went off this when I found out it was also a medical term for missing/absent limb(s). I know it's also a name but just that alone put me off that name. For good. I really like the others too in varying degrees. Isabella is very pretty. She could be Issy/Izzy/Belle/Bella. So much choice but it is popular. That said I'd still pick your favourite over what is popular. Popularity can be regional - I think this is often forgotten.

skankingpiglet · 16/06/2016 22:33

Evangeline for me too Smile

weegie wouldn't Eveline just end up being pronounced eve-line by most people? It's what I'd plump for if I'd only seen it written down. Or possibly ee-vel-ine?

borntohula · 16/06/2016 22:43

Evelyn!

ABitAsleep · 17/06/2016 10:16

Amelia - Love it, it's popular but classic, suitable to cute baby or sensible adult. Nice opportunities for nicknames too - Amy, Milly, Mimi, etc
Evangeline - Sounds very religious to me, if that's what you're going for.
Evelyn - Not keen, but then again i don't like any of the 'old lady' names that are in fashion now.
Isabella - Very popular, and a big variety of spellings which could get annoying, but a nice name.

Threefaries · 17/06/2016 19:29

Evangeline is lovely, such an elegant and pretty name.
