Barnaby, Rex or Sonny?

So baby boy is due in a couple of months and so far we have managed to shortlist 3 names, but we can't agree on one of the 3!

Hubby likes Sonny best, then Rex but I LOVE Barnaby!

Which do you like better/sounds better with our surname - Atkinson?

I like them all, but I'm with you on Barnaby! It's lovely. All of them work really well with your surname too.

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 07/06/2016 18:56

None of them. They are dogs names.

Rex is fabulous, Barnaby is OK, but Sonny is not my style at all, I'm afraid. It sounds far too cutesy and informal for a full name IMO.

Rex Barnaby or Barnaby Rex would be wonderful though!

marblestatue · 07/06/2016 19:10

Rex

Disregardme · 07/06/2016 19:20

Rex

maitaimojito · 07/06/2016 19:23

Barnaby

LaceyLee · 07/06/2016 19:55

Like. Barnaby and Rex isn't bad but hate sonny! It's just not a name for a grown up. I know a guy who changed his name from sonny cos he hated it that much.

villainousbroodmare · 07/06/2016 23:30

Not Sonny.
Not Rex.
Which leaves Barnaby.

RortyCrankle · 08/06/2016 00:02

Barnaby or at a push Rex - anything's better than Sonny.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 08/06/2016 09:59

None of them. They are dogs names

^^ agree.

winkywinkola · 08/06/2016 10:15

Dogs names are Scruff, Patch and Rusty.

bolognaadvice · 08/06/2016 10:18

Affluent dogs are getting a rebrand!

I love Rex & Sonny. Not liking Barnaby in the slightest though. The school spanner back in the day, was called Barnaby however, so negative because of that. He really was a tit!

usernoidea · 08/06/2016 10:24

Crikey! Ignore the negative comments - I really like them all and we are expecting a boy soon and your names are the same as mine (plus 2 others)....!
I love them all. Go with your instincts and good luck X

Buggers · 08/06/2016 10:26

Barnaby.

seafoodeatit · 08/06/2016 17:03

I'd go for Barnaby, Rex just makes me think of a dog's name sorry.

Barnaby is lovely!

Rex is a guard dog or a dinosaur.... Sonny is simply awful imo, sorry.

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 08/06/2016 17:33

I've a Barnaby too. All time favourite boys name.

badtime · 08/06/2016 23:34

I dislike all of these names, but Sonny is by far the worst.

purplefox · 08/06/2016 23:36

They all remind me of dogs.

Pigeonpost · 08/06/2016 23:37

I also have a Barnaby so am biased but prefer it by a LONG way. Rex in 2nd. Really don't like Sonny at all.

julfin · 09/06/2016 00:28

I like Barnaby, and quite like Rex (good strong name).

I can't help but agree with our philosopher friend re Sonny is awful. May as well call him Youngfellermelad

EmmaWoodlouse · 10/06/2016 16:36

Barnaby - and I don't say that very often.
