Rhyming names

3 dc have rhyming names, which wasn't the intention - it just happened that way! Anyway I'm wondering if it would be odd now to name the 4th something that doesn't rhyme! Also I can't think of one that does 😬

Should I try and think of a name that rhymes with the other 3 or go for something completely different??

My DN were given rhyming names and they hated it. As soon as they could legally, they changed their names.

Based on this, I would not give another rhyming name - sorry :(

barbecue · 04/06/2016 19:55

Stick to the theme.

DiggersRest · 04/06/2016 20:01

Did you not say the names against each other? I made sure dd2 name sounded fine with dd1, l would have noticed if they rhymed!

As you've got 3 rhymers l would do the same for dc4.

RainbowsAndUnicornss · 04/06/2016 20:19

Yes I knew but I gave dd1 a name I just liked, dd2 has mil name & ds my dads name. I didn't think 'what rhymes with dd1' it just happened!
Yeah I'm thinking that barbrque but trouble is I cannot actually think of another boys name that rhymes, let alone one I like. As I say that wasn't the way I approached naming the other 3!!

I have aLily and really wanted matilda but couldnt deal with lily & tilly if the nickname stuck! Saying that i do know a lily&billy. I think no more rhyming m,break the trend x

RainbowsAndUnicornss · 04/06/2016 20:49

What might/might not complement them six? Do you mean something a bit 80's Grin like Tracey?? Actually I love the name Stacey but I think it's a boy...
(I can't stop rhyming!!!)

I think something with two syllables and ending in "N" would sound similar enough without being too matchy.

Mason, Nathan, Ethan, Senan, Brendan...that's all I have!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/06/2016 10:09

Shame you aren't having triplets, you could have Aaron, Baron, and Farron.

manicinsomniac · 05/06/2016 10:11

Aaron, definitely if you want a rhyme. Lovely name. But it is just the other three names minus the K, S and D so not sure ...

SoupDragon · 05/06/2016 10:18

Aaron, definitely if you want a rhyme

Except a lot of people pronounce this Air-ron. If you want Arran it's better to go for Arran.

SoupDragon · 05/06/2016 10:21

I would say that you are extremely likely to be the only person with children called that (apart from their father!) Unless they were born in the 70s -80s :)

RainbowsAndUnicornss · 05/06/2016 20:14

Thank you, yes Arran & Nathan are growing on me...

LadyAntonella · 05/06/2016 20:24

Arran (I might spell it Aaron though) is lovely if you want the rhyme.
