We're having our second boy in a few weeks and names are proving more difficult than last time.. However we have now got 2 possibilities, although other suggestions still welcome!

Let me know which you like best out of:
Jesse Alexander
Joey Alexander

Thanks! Ps no, I'm not American...

Im no help i like both! Id probably go for joey as jesse is a little bit effeminate.

Hushabyelullaby · 01/06/2016 23:53

I'd have to say Jesse as Joey just reminds me of Joey Essex or Joey from Friends

DramaAlpaca · 01/06/2016 23:55

Of the two, Jesse Alexander.

I'd prefer Joseph Alexander, nn Joey, but that's not what you're asking!

Greenyogagirl · 01/06/2016 23:58

Joey
Jesse makes me think it's short for Jessica (I know it's not though!)

MrsGW · 02/06/2016 00:03

Joey Alexander

Ludways · 02/06/2016 00:08

I love Jesse but it clashes with my surname so couldn't use it. I really hate it for s girl but then I lived in the states for a lot of years and it's a boys name to me.

Lilacpink40 · 02/06/2016 00:11

I'm with drama Joseph as first name and Joey nn. If he says Joey as an adult he may be 'corrected' on forms to Joseph?

MyNewBearTotoro · 02/06/2016 00:19

I agree Joseph is a lovely first name but whilst I think Joey is a cute nickname I don't like it so much as the actual name.

Not keen on Jesse at all but Alexander is a lovely middle name.

knightsmum · 02/06/2016 00:21

Jesse

BackforGood · 02/06/2016 00:40

I don't like 'Jesse' at all - think it sounds like a girls name (although I know it has been used for a boy in America since the Wild West)

Don't like Joey either, but if you went for Joseph, you could call him Joey, and he would be able to choose later in life.

Sophronia · 02/06/2016 00:40

Jesse Alexander. I prefer Joey as a shortened form of Joseph.

pieceofpurplesky · 02/06/2016 00:48

I prefer Jesse but I teach one who gets teased for his 'girl's name'. He is ok with it though and handles it well.
Not fond of Joey / Essex and Tribiani

pieceofpurplesky · 02/06/2016 00:49

Oops

What about
Jonah
Josiah
Jared
Johnny
Jarvis

septembersunshine · 02/06/2016 07:26

Joey. Hands down.

Just because Jesse could be confused with Jess/Jessica/Jesse in the classroom. And who wants to be the only boy Jesse among a gang of girl Jesses? Joey is nicer then he could become Joe in later years. Jesses leaves him with the shortening of Jess.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/06/2016 07:34

Jesse!

LadyAntonella · 02/06/2016 08:53

Jesse Smile

BertrandRussell · 02/06/2016 08:58

Joseph.

Joey when he's a baby- then Joe or Joseph as he grows up.

LolaStarr · 02/06/2016 09:00

I love Joey. I'm pregnant with DS2 and he's going to be a Joey Smile

Agadooo · 02/06/2016 09:04

Not Jesse-very feminine sounding and in scotland it's used as an insult if someone is gay. Not keen on joey either-hows about Jonah?

JuliannalovesCliveBixby · 02/06/2016 09:07

Jesse. I have a Jesse and everyone old duffers warned us we'd get shit for naming him that. He'd get mistaken for a girl, people would laugh etc etc. Never happened!

JuliannalovesCliveBixby · 02/06/2016 09:12

I fail to see how being called gay or like a girl are insults. Hmm

Half my family is Scottish, they love the name. The other half are English. They said everyone would think he was a girl and the Scottish would take the piss. They were wrong.

juneau · 02/06/2016 09:23

Jesse - because its a proper name.

I just can't imagine a 50-year-old bloke called Joey - its too babyish.

juneau · 02/06/2016 09:25

Of course you could always go for Joseph and called him Joey at home.

NoCapes · 02/06/2016 09:28

Oh I love love love Jesse, I wanted it for Ds2 but DP wouldn't let me because it's a 'girls name' moron!

I can't get on board with just Joey, it's not a whole name by itself

How about Joshua?

Sofie565 · 02/06/2016 09:30

I like Joey :-)
Jesse works too but I think Joey sounds better with Alexander
