I do really like this name but I'm wondering how popular it is...?

I only know of one 7 year old. We're in the South West by the way.

I know a few Theo's, I like the name it used to be on my shortlist but i think its generally quite popular.

Dontplaywithknives · 24/05/2016 18:37

DH is called Theo. I know someone who has a young child, possibly around 2 with that name. Other than that I haven't heard it much. But I do think it's becoming more popular judging by baby name sites. I think it's a lovely name.

I only know one Theo. I think it's a lovely name.

I know a two year old Theo and it really suits him. I've heard a few other toddler/pre-school Theos being called in the park so seems popular where I am (East London).

soundsystem · 24/05/2016 18:48

(The one I know is a Theodore officially)

Maudelish · 24/05/2016 18:52

Thanks all, DP has vetoed it as is the name of his half brothers son.... Shame as I love it!

I know one six year old Theo and one two year old. Gorgeous name...

Hi, lovely name BUT here in the South East, it is crazily popular along with the name Toby. Every little boy in the playground seems to be one of the two! Where all the Ollies and Jacobs (allegedly top 5 names) are I've no idea!

Good Luck!

BeckyWithTheMediocreHair · 26/05/2016 00:37

It has been increasingly popular in this corner of London for about thirteen years, judging by the number of Theos who have started to come through to the secondary school where I work. I also encountered several in baby groups while on mat leave. It's not quite the new Jack yet but I anticipate that it'll stay popular for a while.

Absolutelyfabulously · 26/05/2016 06:22

Yes, there definitely seems to be a surge in Theos...

Swissgemma · 26/05/2016 06:25

Love theo ... I wanted a theo but dh would not stop singing "Alvin, Simon, Theodore" so we have a Nathaniel!

LadyAntonella · 26/05/2016 07:08

I love it but apparently it is becoming popular. I have never met one in RL though.

Why don't you use Theodore and then DS could choose a nn (I love Teddy too you see) Grin.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 26/05/2016 11:18

Swissgemma Grin at your DH. My DH is also exactly that childish...
