Arthur is ace. Arty, Arth
What about Albert? Bertie, Albie - more choice than just Albie

Charles meh. He'll be King soon enough then everyone will use it.

Neve please don't spell it that way. It looks like you don't know how to spell it and everyone knows how to spell Niamh nowadays. It comes up on spell checks. Neve is like spelling Olivia Ahlivear

Contrary to others I like Winter. I know a Summer. But Summer brings more pleasant things to mind if you know what I mean. Winter seems harsher, and colder.

Esme is nice. Probably would be pronounced wrong a lot.
Isla is really common. Pretty but common.

What about Nora, Beatie (Beatrice), Naomi, Iris - just trying to think along similar lines.

Stanley, Fred, Frankie avoiding more common Harry.

YellowPirate · 15/05/2016 20:48

I love Arthur. I think out of the girls I like Isla best, I love Niamh but not Neve. X

Violethenry · 15/05/2016 20:55

Wow thanks! Keep the feedback coming, taking note Smile

I like all your boys names but prefer Albie when it's short for Albert. I like Neve from your girls list.

SirNiallDementia · 15/05/2016 22:28

Arthur is my favourite for the boys.
I really, really don't like Albie, It's too "cutesy" for me and I don't think it sounds like an adult's name.

Isla and Esme are really popular here, not sure if that would bother you?
I like Neve/ Neave/ Niamh but think people might struggle to spell or pronounce Niamh?
Winter is not my cup of tea at all..

wobblywonderwoman · 15/05/2016 22:30

I hate the spelling neve. winter is a bit quirky for me

Love the other names

Chinks123 · 15/05/2016 22:35

Well they're all nice enough imo Smile I personally wouldn't use Winter, and I'm not too fond of neve (because it's just like my name but it's not! Grin
I wanted Isla for DD and I think esme is lovely. They're both popular but that doesn't really matter.
I love Arthur and love love Albie!

annandale · 15/05/2016 22:37

I like them all :) my only question would be, will the baby actually be born in Winter? I know a child that has a 'month' name but wasn't born in that month which I find a bit odd. Though I suppose, why advertise a child's birthday.

CharlieJamie · 15/05/2016 22:39

Charles biased

I like Isla

gunting · 15/05/2016 22:40

I dislike all of the girls names and albie

The others are fine Grin

Pipbin · 15/05/2016 22:41

I bloody love Winter. It's a glorious name.
I teach and meet children with a variety of names. Some seem to be 'unique' collections of sounds to be very honest. The names that quickly grow on you are ones like Scout, Red and Autumn.

manicinsomniac · 15/05/2016 22:52

Neve isn't a misspelling of Niamh, it's a separate name. It's Italian or Portuguese for snow and I think it's lovely. With that plus Winter (which I also like in a quirky way) I assume you're expecting a winter baby?

I really like both Isla and Esme too, though obviously they're much more mainstream.

Much less keen on your boy names. Charles is okay but I don't like the others.

CharlieJamie · 15/05/2016 22:59

Neve means a few things, if you are using the snow version, it's said with 2 syllables, if you're going for the anglicised version of the Irish name, then it's 1. It's not a miss spelling. It's just in English form...

SuburbanRhonda · 15/05/2016 23:10

But most people wouldn't know the other uses and would assume it was Niamh misspelled.

And I don't think it even sounds like a name. Sorry, OP.

FixItUpChappie · 15/05/2016 23:20

I like Albie the best. Charles is awful unless shortened to Charlie, which is quite nice.

I've always liked Esme but it seems quite a fad at the moment. Still, that would be my choice out of the girls names.

BeckyWithTheMediocreHair · 15/05/2016 23:25

When is the baby due? I don't think you can use Winter for the next six months, really (assuming that you are in the northern hemisphere, of course).

EllenDegenerate · 15/05/2016 23:28

I like Esme.

Reluctant2ndtimer · 15/05/2016 23:29

Sorry I just have to share this but I suppose not many people would get it really Grin

ample · 16/05/2016 00:42

Neve (I pronounce it Nev), Arthur and Charles all get my vote.

Albie - bit of a ditherer of a name, I don't know why
Isla and Esme - pretty but becoming popular/overused
Winter - as in the winter of our discontent

mathanxiety · 16/05/2016 02:50

I love Charles and Winter.

I hate the misspelling of Niamh. If people say Neem, then correct them.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 16/05/2016 03:21

Arthur - love this
Albie - not a grown up's name
Charles - nice with nn Charlie

Neve - horrible misspelling of a nice name
Isla - boring but fine if overused
Winter - dreadful
Esme - nice but overused.

nectarini1983 · 16/05/2016 09:32

I really love Winter (would have been on my list for Dd 2 but she was born in the spring ha!) All the other girls names are too popular for me although I do really like isla and neve. i really dislike Esme for some reason!

Not fussed on your boys list. I like Ezra, Luca and Asa if that's any help.

ABitAsleep · 16/05/2016 10:30

Arthur - Bit old fashioned for my taste. I know it's all the fashion these days, but It's an old man's names.
Albie - Not keen, sounds a bit babyish and made up. Prefer Archie or Alfie.
Charles - Don't like the full name, but love Charlie.

Neve - Lovely, and underused these days. Prefer the spelling Neeve (do not like Niamh at all!)
Isla - Too popular right not. Every other little girl is called Isla
Winter - Although i like seasons names (Summer and Autumn) this is just a little too odd
Esme - Lovely, and underused. Suitable for a child or adult i think.

GruffaloPants · 16/05/2016 10:33

Charles and Neve

albertcampionscat · 16/05/2016 12:56

Neve is italian for snow, but it isn't a name in italian. I'd go with Niamh too. Having said that, I like Winter and Win or Winnie are nice nn.
