Name to go with Arthur

We have DS called Arthur. DC2 due in 3 months so we have ages, but we can't really think of any names.

Girls name sorted I think (but still happy to hear others!).

Boys names we're at a loss.

I like 'poncey' names (I don't know how to explain, but my DH thinks they're poncey) and we have sort of both agreed (but it feels reluctant) on Edmund (but I hate the derivatives!)

Any ideas please???

Someone had Rafferty on their list on here the other day and I fell in love with it! Don't know if that fits the bill?

Casper
Benedict
Theodore
Ralph (pronounced Rafe)?

CatInTheVat · 04/05/2016 21:16

Well Arthur is regal so goes with:
Henry
George
William
Edward

But Arthur is also "old man chic" so:
Freddie
Frank
Stanley
Ernest (Ernie)
Wilfred
Reginald (Reggie)
Sidney
Sonny

Albert?

Luckystar1 · 04/05/2016 21:22

Benedict was very high on our list for DS. But I'm not keen on Ben/Benny. I do love Ralph.

I'm not massively into 'old man chic' and all the other 'Regal' names are just so, so, so popular at the moment (I know Arthur is rising, but George etc are 2 a penny round here!)

DH did suggest Albert but it seems too close to Arthur (like we couldn't get past the 1st page if the baby book!)

See, I'm a total pain!! This poor child will be nameless.

I like Miles, but it is very similar to our surname

I did wonder about two 'A's too, I guess Arthur and Albert probably are a bit too similar.

Rupert maybe? Or Rafferty? (just checking you saw this gem - I love it so) Grin

Oh thank you! This had slipped down my 'threads I'm on'.

Lots of amazing suggestions thank you so much.

Sebastian is great but so popular where we are. Lawrence is one of DS' middle names.

I love Rupert, and actually was thinking Jonathan (with Jonty as a nn Blush) earlier today!

DH vetoed Giles, the git! I might push again for it.
