I like Imogen, Lucia (pronounced your way) and Georgia. Congrats!

Bellasima20 · 12/05/2016 07:36

Hazel by far, prefer Elsie to Elise but still lovely then Lucia. Imogen boring.

MissManagement · 14/05/2016 03:37

Going to disagree with most of you. Alethea is absolutely beautiful. (Doesn't it mean 'truth' in Greek?) might have given it to DD as a middle name if I'd thought of it.

The others are all a bit top 20.

Love Imogen too, though. It's a classic, timeless name.

TeradelFuego · 14/05/2016 04:01

Imogen and Lucia are gorgeous.
Also like Elise and Georgia.
Alethea is OK.
Dislike Hazel, it has a bit of a frumpy vibe to me.

Miniminimus · 14/05/2016 04:31

I really like Imogen, it has gravitas when grown up (poss nn Immy or Genny). Also Lucia, pronounced either way. Sorry, not keen on Alethea (sounds too contrived..maybe Ailsa has similar feel but is simpler?) and Hazel (just too 'woodsy' Grin and knew an unpleasant one at school).

Georgia is nice but lots of them around now as tweens/teens so would be worried about it dating. I have a name that dates me to a decade and always wish I didn’t.

Elise is lovely but saying the name all day feels a bit of a mouthful without a nn. What would nn be? Ellie? Pretty but again lots and lots of them in the last few years? Elise gets regularly mistyped in emails and lists as Elsie.

I think this is a really thoughtful shortlist though with some real variety, good luck!

I know an Alethea and like the name and the lisp thing hasn't occurred to me, it isn't really pronounced similarly. More like "Ale-faya". Not keen on Hazel.

EllenDegenerate · 14/05/2016 15:41

Hazel is lovely.

The others are all a bit nondescript/common.

CPtart · 14/05/2016 16:47

Imogen - ok
Alethea - sounds silly and made up, or like Alicia with a lisp.
Lucia - a Caribbean island. Prefer Louisa.
Hazel - no, frumpy
Georgia - dislike, but Georgina is nice.
Elise - love it. By far the nicest.

YellowPirate · 14/05/2016 22:43

I love Hazel too, it's really pretty. x

joyfulworld · 17/05/2016 07:24

Imogen and Georgia are my favourite from your list.

RubyRedandWilson · 17/05/2016 09:03

I like Imogen the best.

n0ne · 17/05/2016 10:46

I prefer Althea to Alethea and Georgina to George (love the nn George either way)
Of your list, I think I like Elise the most.

n0ne · 17/05/2016 10:48

Argh - prefer Georgina to Georgia!

pilates · 19/05/2016 09:30

Imogen Lucia sounds lovely

Pipilangstrumpf · 19/05/2016 10:04

Elise and Lucia are my favourites.

I don't like Imogen or Alethea at all.

NapQueen · 19/05/2016 10:06

Georgia.

Louisa rather than Lucia (Which I would pronounce loo-sha)

DorotheaHomeAlone · 19/05/2016 10:13

Imogen is lovely. By far the nicest.
