I think it's fine

iseenodust · 20/04/2016 13:45

Sorry don't think it does work.

Herewegoagainfolks · 20/04/2016 13:46

Jamie Corwens sounds better. Would that be an option?

ifcatscouldtalk · 20/04/2016 13:53

I really like the name james (irrelevant) and it sounds ok with surname. Its not exactly a real tongue twister so should be ok.

AStreetcarNamedBob · 20/04/2016 13:54

Sounds fine

Itinerary · 20/04/2016 15:05

It's fine.

Sophronia · 20/04/2016 15:11

Yes, it's fine.

MrsDarcy4092 · 20/04/2016 18:28

i don't like Jamie. He would always be a James.

Alternatives are Max or Otto.

If you don't like the most obvious pet form of a name, I wouldn't choose to give my child that name. Once he goes to school other children (and he, himself) may well change it - you will have little control over this. So if you don't like Jamie I would choose another name.

Vodkaandballoons · 20/04/2016 18:41

I think it sounds fine. Both DH & ds1 are James and neither of them have ever been called Jamie so I don't think that's a concern. Two different names IMO.

JSarah · 20/04/2016 18:47

I know lots of James; none go by Jamie... Also, all the Jamies I know, are Jamie on BC, it isn't an issue Smile

I prefer James, then Max.

I don't like Otto.

Herewegoagainfolks · 20/04/2016 18:59

MrsDarcy if you don't like Jamie or Jim don't call your child James.

You can only control what you will call him through his life, not what other call him or what he calls himself.

I went to Uni with someone who introduced herself as Louisa. Her Mother came to visit and tore strips every single one of her (19 year old) daughter's friends for not calling her Louisa Marie. Everyone was fairly appalled at "Louisa Marie" being snapped out at anyone who got it "wrong". I saw her on FB recently - still calling her self just "Louisa". Smile

MrsDarcy4092 · 20/04/2016 19:13

When I said I didn't like Jamie he would always be James it was I relation to what his actual name would be. I have no issue of he one day wants to be Jim, Jamie, jimbo, jay or Delilah. But I wouldn't name him Jamie.
