Thoughts? How would you spell it if you heard it? DH's niece is Abigail, does it sound too similar to you?

We know several Annabels all with the spelling in your OP.

Not remotely similar to Abigail in my accent (who'll probably end up being called Abby)

I love it & I'd spell it Annabel. I find Annabelle unnecessarily frilly.

It sounds completely different to Abigail.

motheroreily · 17/04/2016 21:55

I think it's a lovely name. I'd spell it either annabelle or Annabell.

wonkylegs · 17/04/2016 21:57

Annabel is on our shortlist in this spelling although we briefly considered Annabelle.
I think it's fine with Abigail.

JSarah · 17/04/2016 22:01

I would spell it Annabelle

FluffyPickleMonster · 17/04/2016 22:21

Fab, thanks! Glad that it's been well received! Our surname is one syllable and I always think it's a harsh sound so I thought that Annabel had a lovely soft flowy sound to it. I think it does sound similar to Abigail though, maybe I have a weird accent!

It's a lovely name. Pretty but not overly frilly.

Cosycottage4 · 18/04/2016 19:03

Lovely, it's on our shortlist!

Annabel. Just as you have written it. It's the name we are calling our baby if it's a girl. Love it!

FluffyPickleMonster · 18/04/2016 21:28

Yay thanks ladies. It's deffo on my list now!

Very pretty name and unusual too

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 19/04/2016 23:12

I've never thought about any other spelling but Annabelle, but either way it's lovely and not associated at all with Abigail in my mind.
