Hallie or Annie?

Which do you prefer?

I wouldn't use the Halle spelling as I know someone who's name is Elle, but pronounced Ellie and she gets really cross having to tell everyone her name.

Love Annie, not keen on hallie

AuntJane · 16/04/2016 17:49

Halle is a name in its own right. Hallie is a nn for Harriet or Henrietta (in the same way that Hal is a nn for Henry.

Timetogrowup2016 · 16/04/2016 17:56

Annie.
Halle abs hallie are some name right just spelt differently? :S

Baz13 · 16/04/2016 17:59

I would pronounce them both the same, I just think there would be a lot of confusion over the pronunciation. Although I would say it's the same as Halle Berry.
I just personally prefer the spelling Hallie.

Annie is my favourite name, I just need to convince DH. It annoys me he doesn't like it.

Weren't the characters, the twins in that film with a young Lindsay Lohan called Annie and Hallie?

MadameDePompom · 16/04/2016 18:09

Hallie

IcedTin · 16/04/2016 18:11

Annie, as nickname for Annabel, Anneliese, Anna etc.

ChubbyPolecat · 16/04/2016 18:12

Yeah they were the parent trap! Does your dh like anna? Then you can called her Annie as a pet name

IoraRua · 16/04/2016 18:13

Hallie.
Not keen on Annie.

MadameDePompom · 16/04/2016 18:15

I'm not keen on Annie either.

TealLove · 16/04/2016 18:16

Annie is lovely

Lightheartedindeed · 16/04/2016 18:17

If you go with Halle/Hallie there will be confusion over her name either way....believe me

Beautiful name though Grin

Baz13 · 16/04/2016 20:04

Yes, they were twins in parent trap (my dd loves that film).
The only Anne name I know he likes in Anais (I pronounce it wrong and always in my head say anus...which I know is silly/wrong). DH lived in France as a child so he likes this name.

I quite like Annabel as a longer name with nickname Annie (although I still love Annie as a full name)

I have Annie, everyone is always really positive about it.

Not even sure how you pronounce hallie, like Halle berry or like Hal-y?

IHeartKingThistle · 17/04/2016 23:21

I have an Annie too. Funnily enough lots of women have told me they love her name but didn't use it as their husbands didn't like it!

I really like Halle too.

Sophronia · 18/04/2016 02:17

Annie

Alisvolatpropiis · 18/04/2016 08:35

Annie.

Hallie just looks odd to me. Halle being pronounced Hallie isn't comparable with Elle being pronounced Ellie. Primarily because the latter is incorrect and the former is not.

ABitAsleep · 18/04/2016 10:09

Hallie is lovely ( I prefer this spelling over Halle)

Annie is okay, but nothing special imo

LadyAntonella · 18/04/2016 11:24

I prefer Annie. Not a fan of Halle or Hallie really.

314inTheSky · 18/04/2016 11:26

Like Icedtin, I like Annie short for Annabel or Anneliese.

not sure about Hallie. It's like a mash of Holly and Allie. It's just not quite a name. (imo)

MitzyLeFrouf · 18/04/2016 11:34

I like Hallie.

Annie is a bit plain and dull for me.

JSarah · 18/04/2016 16:30

Annie

septembersunshine · 18/04/2016 20:21

Annie no contest. Hallie is just doesn't sound as nice. Would your DH go for Anna with Annie as a nickname? The naming thing is so hard. Currently going though this with a boys name!
