Keep going back to this name when looking at baby names. I just can't make my mind up weather I like it or not. Haven't suggested the name to hubby yet either. Would love to hear ur opinions

i really like it

TheTempest · 08/04/2016 12:37

I'm biased as its my DD's name- nick name Scarly. I love it Grin

nectarini1983 · 08/04/2016 13:26

Love the name but dislike the 'Scar' beginning.

NewLife4Me · 08/04/2016 13:29

I don't like it because there are so many on the estates round here, and it is quite common as in popular.
If you really like it go for it, sometimes they can end up at school with 2 or 3 of the same name that weren't popular at the time.

mydogeatsnutstoo · 08/04/2016 13:40

I'm not a fan generally, think it is a bit harsh and quite faddy - but the only Scarlett I know has beautiful red hair and it suits her perfectly. So in conclusion I would only use for a red haired baby....

AndNowItsSeven · 08/04/2016 13:42

Not keen, Ruby is much nicer.

squoosh · 08/04/2016 14:24

It's a bit brassy but I don't mind that.

Ruby is the name of a put upon scullery maid. At least Scarlett is having a bit of fun. No floor scrubbing for her!

septembersunshine · 08/04/2016 14:35

Scarlett - umm.. I like it and I like it on someone else's child but I would never go for it myself. Ever. I wouldn't call it a pretty sounding name but I think given the right child it would be ok. Letty is a much nicer nickname them Scar!!

Indecisiveness · 08/04/2016 14:51

Don't like it at all, sorry. Not classy or elegant IMO, if that's what you're looking for.

Flowerrr · 08/04/2016 16:25

I really like it Smile

Normandy144 · 08/04/2016 16:30

I like it but discounted it as I know 3 all aged between 7-9.

AmyInTheBoonies · 08/04/2016 18:23

I used to want to be called this. Not so keen on it now, possibly a bit hard sounding.

ChimpyChops · 08/04/2016 20:48

I love it!

I think it's very pretty Smile

Figgygal · 08/04/2016 21:03

I live in bristol where it's always shortened to Scar - which is unbearable otherwise I like it

MuttonCadet · 08/04/2016 21:11

Scarlet the harlot comes to mind (sorry)

babymakesfive · 09/04/2016 05:05

I don't think Scarlet(t) has any appealing connotations IMO. Scarlet woman?! Plus, I would think you'd named her after Scarlett Johansson - it's one of those names, like Angelina, that is now inextricably linked to a celebrity. Not a fan.

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 09/04/2016 05:16

I love it.
