For brother Henry?

Think we have narrowed it down to these two.

Thank you!

James Smile

Sophronia · 06/04/2016 21:53

Thomas, but I love James too.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/04/2016 21:55

Do you like Tom? If you do then Thomas, otherwise James.

TheWoollybacksWife · 06/04/2016 22:01

Thomas I love Tom but hate Tommy as a shortening, though.

NickNacks · 06/04/2016 22:01

James

GinAndPhonics82 · 06/04/2016 22:03

I have a James and a Thomas. Stopped short of going the whole 'tank engine' hog and didn't call my third son Percy, opted for Alex instead!

DramaAlpaca · 06/04/2016 22:06

My favourite is James, but both are good with Henry.

Shadow1986 · 06/04/2016 22:12

Thanks for replies so far!

Gin I so wish I could come up with a name that I liked that wasn't in the tank engine family but we just can't agree on anything else! Grin

Well I suppose it comes down to which shortening do you prefer. Tom/Tom or Jim!Jimmy/Jay.

mrsmeerkat · 07/04/2016 00:16

James .. Love it. It was on our shortlist.

NadiaWadia · 07/04/2016 00:35

I have always thought that James was a gorgeous name (prefer the nickname Jamie to Jimmy etc.) but the trouble is there are so many of them around. But I think maybe it's not so popular now for younger boys, so maybe not a problem?

Thomas/ Tom is a perfectly fine name.

Hawkmoth · 07/04/2016 00:36

I've got a James and a Henry.

HoundoftheBaskervilles · 07/04/2016 00:53

James. Never been keen on Thomas.

Absolutelyfabulously · 07/04/2016 10:20

Both are lovely but I just can't stand the nn Jim or Jimmy which I'm sure would be inevitable at some stage. On the other hand, I love both Thomas and Tom and think it is perfect with Henry!

Itinerary · 07/04/2016 16:21

I prefer James, but think of Henry James the author when I hear the two names together. Nothing wrong with that, just wondered if it might keep attracting that particular comment.

mydogeatsnutstoo · 07/04/2016 17:30

James - would use nickname Jamie but know not to everyone's taste. The ones I know (children) just get called James though.

Not keen on Thomas, know loads of these!

StitchesInTime · 07/04/2016 17:44

I prefer James. You could always claim it's a British Kings theme if anyone mentions Thomas and Friends.

Summ3r · 07/04/2016 18:35

Love both sorry lol

joyfulworld · 08/04/2016 08:30

I can't choose. I love both. Smile

CruCru · 08/04/2016 08:48

James but hate Jamie - if anyone calls him Jamie, will it bug you?

pilates · 08/04/2016 09:01

Both nice, hard to choose favourite

imwithspud · 08/04/2016 09:05

Thomas, never been keen on James despite being engaged to one.

Flowerrr · 08/04/2016 16:29

James - it goes better with Henry Smile

ChimpyChops · 08/04/2016 21:02
