I really want our baby to have a name when they arive. For a girl:
My list: Flora Opal, Bianca Rylee, Naomi Samantha, Tessa Chloe
DH's list: Flora Clementine, Alexandra Charlotte, Ruby Eden, Josie Hayden, Paloma Rachel, Liliana Faith, Cameron Athena, Summer Brynn, Scarlett Brooke, Valentina Lila, Amelia Jasmine, Phoebe Isis, Fiona Belle and Leia Vivienne.
As you can see, he has way more names than I do and is ultimately a name freak!
I think we may end up going with Flora as we both love it but we still wouldn't have a middle name.
For a boy:
My list: Timothy David, Tanner Daniel, Camden Luca, Ezekiel Porter, Nicholas Jake, Christopher Desmond, Ezra Jordan, Howard James, Alistair Dominic.
DH's list: Micah Cedric, Isaac Jacob, Jonah Clark, Angel Gordon, Everett Dean, Declan Alexander, Edmund Grant, Malachi Benjamin, Dale Oscar, Jeremiah Hector, Hector Jeremy, Isaiah Sebastian, Reed Zachary Ryan, Emmett Drake, Carson Charles and Victor Douglas.
We think we have way too many Biblical names on the boy lists for atheists so are cautious about that.
Our son's name is Miles Nathaniel. Surname is Hunter. Please pick three names for a boy and three names for a girl. No mixing and matching and pick your favourites!
Thanks Smile

I think you might be displacing, bless you.

Your beautiful baby will arrive on Monday, all will be fine and you'll think of a lovely name that suits him or her perfectly.

Chill, and good luck. Enjoy your last ever peaceful weekend Smile Flowers

Actually when I saw the thread title for some reason I thought the baby's name was Monday!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 01/04/2016 20:27

Has to be Angel Gordon Grin

From the girls lists, I like Naomi Samantha, Alexandra Charlotte, Paloma Rachel, Liliana Faith and Amelia Jasmine.

Of the boys shortlists, I like Alistair Dominic, Isaac Jacob and Edmund Grant.

I was just coming on to beg you not to use Isis. My DD has an Isis in her class. Until a couple of years ago all was fine but then Islamic State rose to fame and now kids call her "Isis Nazi" and pretend to be blown up as she walks past. She's a confident little thing but has recently asked to be known by her middle name.

mrsschu · 01/04/2016 21:12

I can't process all the middle names so I'm ignoring them and just giving feedback on first names.

From both of your girls lists I like (but don't love) Tessa, Liliana (although I prefer Lily or Lillian) and Valentina. Alexandra and Naomi are both quie nice too.

From your boys list I really like Nicholas, Isaac, Jonah, Malachi and Emmett (love Emmett actually). Some of your boys names are dreadful though IMO e.g. Camden, Hector, Reed, Angel...

My advice is not to concentrate on middle names, in my experience they are rarely if ever used. Decide on a first name and then pick something you both like or to honour someone as a middle name.

reallylove · 01/04/2016 21:44

Okay so, we've taken in your advice and agreed that first, we just need a first name.
We've decided on Emmett for a boy and Flora for a girl. Our only problem with Emmett is it has no good nicknames like Miles. Now back to battling out middle names! Would it be dumb to name him Emmett Nicholas only because of Miles Nathaniel having an N middle name too? I'm relaxing now and we've decided to chill out! Which, believe me has not been easy to do. But, I am now chilling in a bubble bath with Mumsnet whilst my DH is reading a 5th story to Miles Grin.

I like several of the other names but individually, not with the combinations given.

OneMagnumisneverenough · 01/04/2016 21:51

Isn't Emmett already short for Emerson?

SoThatHappened · 01/04/2016 23:12

Does Emmett need a NN?

Can you not just call your child by the name you give him especially because it is only 2 syllables?

cornishglos · 02/04/2016 13:34

What great names!
Love Flora Clementine and Fiona Belle.
Love Christopher Desmond and Howard James.

cornishglos · 02/04/2016 13:39

Check meaning of Emmett in Cornwall and see if it bothers you. Milo is longer than Miles!

Sophronia · 02/04/2016 13:43

Emmett Nicholas is nice, and I don't think Emmett necessarily needs a shortened form, but Em would probably be ok as an occasional nickname.

Flora Clementine, Flora Charlotte or Flora Vivienne would be nice for a girl.

nectarini1983 · 02/04/2016 15:42

I like the sound of Flora Valentina and Emmett Gabriel (not actually sure if Gabriel was on your list as it exhausts me looking at it ha!)

Oh the angst over a tub of margarine name for a girl and a Back to the Future character for a boy.

Surely not that hard Grin
