Hello all,

DD2 is here.

We adore the name Scarlet. Yes, like the colour - we prefer it that way Smile

However, we have a Violet & Elliot... Would it be too much?

Thank you... It's the only name we agree on!

No just go for it. If you love it who cares. I have a friend with Finley, Evie and Marley but no one really noticed I don't think!

I don't think the similar sounds are too much of a problem because the beginning of the names are very different.

But I don't think I'd go for Scarlet if you already have a Violet - it's just a bit colour themey.

Though, if it's the only name you really love then I'd probably do it. They're only going to be known as 'Violet and Scarlet' for 16 or so years after all, then they'll just be themselves on their own to most people.

If you're looking for other, sort of similar, alternatives how about:

Charlotte
Margaret
Margot
Arwen
Colette
Annette
Cara
Lara
Mara
Tara
Sara
Sasha
Linnet
Lynette

It's fine. You've already got a Violet and an Elliot which end in t, you might as well go for another one!

I don't think two colour named are great.

Especially with all the t's. Sorry.

GoldPlatedBacon · 31/03/2016 14:44

I like it, although I do prefer Scarlett (sorry)

If you like it go for it. It doesn't matter what others think!!

It's fine.

I think that sounds lovely Smile

If it's the only name you agree on why look for problems that aren't there.
