Zipporah.

I thought it was pretty cool! She suited it too: aged about 9.

How could you "suit" a name like that?

honeysucklejasmine · 30/03/2016 18:22

That was the name of Moses' wife, I think. Lovely name, either way

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 30/03/2016 18:23

How would you avoid the nn "Zippy"?

SoThatHappened · 30/03/2016 18:24

I dont want to out the little girl by describing her as it is not a common name. But she suited it and what do you mean a name like that?

I really like it

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 30/03/2016 18:41

Was she a dinosaur. Grin

manicinsomniac · 30/03/2016 23:54

I know a Zipporah aged about 5ish. She has a brother called Zebediah.

They're known as Zeb and Zip

I think it's kind of cute actually.

Though there are subsequent siblings in the family without Z names.

mathanxiety · 01/04/2016 02:04

I know one who uses the Tsipora spelling. A lovely name imo.

Canyouforgiveher · 01/04/2016 02:33

DDs minder in daycare was Zipporah. I think it is a lovely name. Never heard of the Tsipora spelling but that is also lovely.

mscherryviolet · 01/04/2016 03:49

Awesome! I met a Zipporah once.

I'd take Zipporah over Evie/Grace/Amelia/Isabella/Olivia any day!

LoucheLady · 01/04/2016 11:05

Zipporah / Tsipora is very Jewish.

iloveberries · 01/04/2016 11:23

Sounds like a cleaning product
Poor child

Creatureofthenight · 01/04/2016 11:26

Zipporah still quite popular in Jewish communities, I think.
Autumn there's a book character called Araminta - in Moondial? - and when I read it I really wanted to be called that!

Hersetta427 · 01/04/2016 11:38

Sorry but Zip and Zeb and not Cute. Twee and pretentious more like.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 01/04/2016 12:47

I was going to ask if it was Jewish!

Frika · 01/04/2016 13:38

It's not at all unusual in Jewish communities. I know an Israel-born Tsiporah/Tsipporah too.

BrendasGotABaby · 01/04/2016 13:52

I love Zip and Zeb Grin

In a sea of Oscars and Evies, makes a nice change.
