Victor

I'm 19 weeks with DC2. Already have a DD who has a mainstream virtue name along the lines of Faith/Hope/Honor/Charity/Constance (it is one of these).

I quite like Victor (for a boy obv). Maybe. I'm not sure. The pregnancy has been a bit up and down health wise so I kind of like the idea of strength in the baby's name.

Looking for thoughts about Victor generally, and also would it be too much with DD's name?!

Love it, I like strong names. Also it is uncommon but not unusual. Go for it!

My DH's grandfather was called Victor and he really wanted to use it. I couldn't get past Meldrew, so we have used it but as a third Christian name (all of our children have three names!). It just felt like too much of an old man name to give as a first name for a baby.....

Love it - wish I had thought of it for one of my DSs.

I know a 5yo Victor. I regularly call him Trevor by accident.

sulalovesbing · 29/03/2016 19:34

No. I'm guessing your Dd is called Constance though.

MNemonica · 29/03/2016 19:40

Tor would be a great nickname, and surely Victor is no more of an old man name than Wilfred, Albert, Alfie, Charlie etc?

Ludwsys · 29/03/2016 19:41

I love it, I like Vincent too.

HeadTilt · 29/03/2016 19:41

Thanks so far...

DD isn't called Constance, but it was on the list! Won't be saying any more for fear of outing self..

I'm not sure if DP will like it, we haven't talked names much this time - yet. I also like John.

I like Victor. I think it would work with your daughter's name (which I am also guessing, like a pp, is Constance Grin )

Victor is an excellent name

GreenLounger · 29/03/2016 19:47

My dad was a Victor... I like it for a kid (because of a boy in a TV show!) but that's the only reason, which is silly.

It wouldn't go with your DD's name, but I don't think it matters!

Sophronia · 29/03/2016 22:52

I like Victor and John

Itinerary · 30/03/2016 12:29

I like both Victor and John.

DramaAlpaca · 30/03/2016 12:31

I think Victor would go perfectly with your DD's name, whichever one of those it is.

Just no.
