How about suggesting that you choose the name for a boy and he chooses for a girl. However you'd also have to be prepared to use his names as well.

I love Stanley and Phoenix. We have just had another "heated discussion" about it and we are back to square one. I honestly think I might cry. I can't bare to name him something I don't like and we just can't agree, it will be me that ends up backing down, except I'm not this time, at all. We have to find a compromise!
