Amy, Lucy or Holly

First baby, a girl, due next month. I love these three names equally and am finding it hard to choose. I also quite like Anna but not as much as these others. DH had slight preference for Holly but is happy for me to decide. Middle names will be Mary Grace after two family members. Which do you prefer?

Holly

Lucy

Amy

In that order.

EllaHen · 21/03/2016 12:15

A thousand times Lucy.

MissTessmacher · 21/03/2016 12:16

Lucy.

Amy is very dated and Holly is a Christmas name (and also a bit dated).

PurpleDaisies · 21/03/2016 12:16

Lucy is my fake Starbucks name (what I wish I'd been called!).

That would get my vote. The others are nice too though.

FreddoFrog · 21/03/2016 12:17

Lucy. Sweet and perfect.

(and the name of one of my daughters Grin)

AuntieStella · 21/03/2016 12:19

Lucy, runner up Amy

smartyclogs · 21/03/2016 12:22

I like Amy the most, especially as it's not a name of the moment.
I gave my Dd a name that Mn considered dated (80s) but I think is refreshing change.

thisismypassword · 21/03/2016 12:23

I would switch over the middle names too because it doesn't sound right otherwise.

E.g Lucy Grace Mary sounds tons better

MitzyLeFrouf · 21/03/2016 13:23

Lucy.

joyfulworld · 21/03/2016 13:38

I love Lucy the most.

MarshaMallow84 · 21/03/2016 13:52

I love the name Amy. It reminds me of the character from Little Women. Must be spelled Amy though. I'm not so keen on Aimee (or variations). Lucy is sweet. Am, personally, not a fan of Holly at all.

babyblabber · 21/03/2016 14:24

I'm in Ireland but I must know 15 girls under 5 called Amy and another 5-10 called Lucy so I'd go for Holly.

sephineee · 21/03/2016 14:26

Holly!

I intended to call my daughter Holly since I was 14. I did!

Lucy was always our runner up girls name. We have talked about it so much over the years it seems odd we don't have a Lucy.

Holly is very popular around here.

I really like Anna out of them all...very elegant.

IoraRua · 21/03/2016 14:45

I really like Holly.
I have taught quite a few Lucys and Amys so I would avoid for that reason. I prefer Lucy to Amy tbh but much of a muchness between them imo.

Kim82 · 21/03/2016 14:52

Lucy. I love it and if Ds was a girl that would have been his name. I used it as a middle name for dd2 and was then gutted I couldn't use it as a first name for dd3.

BikeRunSki · 21/03/2016 14:53

Amy
In 4.5 years have only met one other Amy her age.
There are Lucys and Hollys all over the place.

Amy would have been Anna though , if good friends (geographically and emotionally) hadn't used it a year earlier.

AmysTiara · 21/03/2016 14:55

Holly. I don't like Amy or Lucy. Lucy sounds really twee imo.

SnapCackleFlop · 21/03/2016 14:58

Holly :)

KittyandTeal · 21/03/2016 14:58

My dd is Lucy.

We think it's classic but different enough that there aren't 2/3 in each class.

I have yet to meet another Lucy her age.

Ludwsys · 21/03/2016 14:59

Lucy

Amy

Holly, I know loads of them, I can see 3 parents of a Holly/Hollie from where I'm sat right now.

mrsschu · 21/03/2016 15:12

In this order:
Holly
Amy
Lucy

I'm not a fan of Lucy, it's dull IMO. Amy is my DD's middle name, not because I love it but it has a very special personal connection for me. It does sound a little dated but not badly so. In fact my DD regularly tells me she prefers it to her first name!! Holly is nice also although I know 3 under about 5.

hopefulclam · 21/03/2016 15:15

Lucy without a doubt

LightTurquoise · 21/03/2016 15:58

I like Amy and Holly the most, but Lucy is nice.

Holly Mary Grace goes better than Amy Mary Grace...

Lucy Mary Grace flows even better.
