Looking for similar to the above but my mind has gone blank! Something signifying strength etc. Anyone help? =) x

Personally, I wouldn't give names that reflect personal attributes, in case it turns out that the person is nothing like that.

clashofclanswidow · 17/03/2016 14:49

True - it was mostly for my own reasons but I hadn't actually thought of that! X

But you could give a name meaning it without being too obvious:

How about Honoria - a bit of honor in there but not so obvious. (Dickens character name) Sounds nicer than it looks lol.

MrsBac83 · 17/03/2016 15:58

Pronounced like On-or-re-ah

StDogolphin · 17/03/2016 16:23

Penelope
Felicity
Helena

NoCapes · 17/03/2016 16:30

MrsBac like gonorrhoea??

Lweji · 17/03/2016 16:33

I'd pronounce Honoria with emphasis on the second o, as in lorry(a), not gonorrhea, which I pronounce with an emphasis on the rrhea.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 17/03/2016 16:41

I love the name Faith. Can't you use that?

ABitAsleep · 17/03/2016 16:43

I love Honoria - i would pronounce it hon-noor-ree-ah (NoCapes Did you see the series Dickensian on BBC? There was a character on there named Honoria if you want to hear how it should be pronounced)

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 17/03/2016 16:50

It's a pain to go through life telling people how to pronounce your name though. Lots of people will read it as rhyming with gonnorhea.
I prefer Honor/ honour.

clashofclanswidow · 17/03/2016 17:02

I've gone off on a tangent now and decided I like Willow! No wonder I can never settle! x

luckySwallow13 · 17/03/2016 17:04

What about nirvana? I have been pondering this for myself . Do you think it's daft?

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 17/03/2016 17:07

Nirvana's a great name. Reminds me a bit of Kurt Cobain but I doubt our next generation would make that link.

clashofclanswidow · 17/03/2016 17:09

I like Nirvana! I also like Neveah, heaven backwards =)

Oh my Sister has just pointed out...but I'm not sure if she is just over-thinking...could Willow get "Willy" if I already have a Lily?! Hahaha I thought Lily and Willow went lovely together but now all it takes is for someone to say it too fast without concentrating?! x

OP posts:
luckySwallow13 · 17/03/2016 17:10

yea that's what I'm thinking. My dp is a big kurt fan so I don't think he'll like it . Im thinking middle name at least ;) x

luckySwallow13 · 17/03/2016 17:13

hmm I think she's over worrying . However I can imagine willow and lillow being mistakenly said . Ha now I'm over thinking

Lweji · 17/03/2016 17:23

I like Willow and would never mistake it, but then I'm a Buffy fan and I'm rewatching it atm too. Grin
