I used my favourite girl's name for DD (Matilda NN Tilly) and now struggling to come up with something we love as much for second baby.

Ideas so far:
Lola - DP hates
Amelia
Scarlet (a bit rhymey with our surname)
Violet
Amelie
Rosie

Finlay
Thom
Oliver
Jago

What else might we like? We have a few months!

Violet and Finlay are lovely.

I like Rosie, Finlay and Thorn.

I see Matilda as quite a 'modern classic' name which goes with names like:

Amy, Abigail, Annabelle, Arabella, Alexa, Beatrice, Charlotte, Chloe, Darcey, Emily, Eva, Francesca, Felicity, Grace, Georgina, Harriet, Hannah, Isabelle, Imogen, Isla, Jessica, Juliette, Jasmine, Katie, Kathryn, Lily, Lucy, Lydia, Natasha, Natalie, Olivia, Phoebe, Poppy, Ruby, Rebecca, Saskia, Susannah, Tabitha, Victoria, Vanessa, Zara

Aaron, Aidan, Alexander, Benedict, Christian, Daniel, Elliot, Frederick, George, Henry, Harry, Isaac, Jack, Jacob, Joseph, Joshua, Jamie, Lucas, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Oscar, Patrick, Reuben, Samuel, Thomas, Vincent, William, Zachary

But your list of ideas so far is more what I would class as 'modern slightly trendy and some a bit quirky or unusual' and I would add names like:

Avery, Amberley, Ada, Astrid, Asha, Bronte, Briar, Bryony, Cleo, Cara, Cassidy, Daphne, Eden, Erica, Fallon, Faith, Giselle, Hermione, India, Iris, Isadora, Josie, Jocelyn, Keziah, Lyra, Lara, Larissa, Lorelai, Mila, Marnie, Mara, Mala, Nyah, Nia, Noelle, Ophelia, Rowena, Robina, Romilly, Savannah, Sadie, Taryn, Tegan, Tara, Una, Verity, Vivienne, Willow, Xanthe, Zia

Austin, Ashton, Arlo, Bryn, Corey, Colby, Digby, Dexter, Ezra, Elijah, Flynn, Fitch, Harley, Harvey, Ivan, Inigo, Jonty, Jasper, Jeremy, Kieran, Logan, Milo, Micah, Nico, Owen, Parker, Quinn, Rory, Riley, Solomon, Seth, Titus, Tiago, Tian, Victor, Xavier

Violet by a mile from your girls names. Goes beautifully with Matilda too.
Finlay from your boys.

Violet

Jago
Oliver (although very popular)
Quentin
Elliott

Thom is lovely.

I agree with your dp about Lola.

Vixxfacee · 17/03/2016 17:39

Violet is nice. What about Penelope?

SimileMilly · 17/03/2016 20:18

Wow lots of great suggestions there!

DP isn't keen on Violet, but I like it a lot.

Penelope is out as a close friend has just called her DD this (and although she doesn't technically own the name I can see why she'd be a bit miffed if we used it!)
