Anglicising names?

There are some Irish and Greek names I like that here in England people wouldn't know how to pronounce.

When is it 'OK' to transliterate into an English spelling?

Lots of names historically have been adapted to Scottish, Irish or English pronunciations/spellings. Is it no longer OK to do this?

Do what you like, or we will all end up with the same names, and people learn names, so don't worry about that.

I (and most the family) have ancient gaelic (and other) names never had a problem, I can only say it's been an advantage.
