Help with boys names!

I'm 13 weeks and we found out Monday that I am having a boy.

I'm a teacher and so some wonderful names are automatically out as I now associate them with the kids I teach. I know it might sound strange but they would feel mine.

I have one live dd called Lucy. Our dd2 was stillborn so her name almost doesn't need to go as much iyswim as they wont be said together often.

For boys our top names are

Leo (but I'm not sure is 2 L names are a bit cutesy)
Max
Josh
We also love Toby but our surname is a T and it would go.

Any other suggestions?

Leo - very nice but too matchy with Lucy
Max - OK
Josh - like but would use Joshua with Josh as nn
Toby - not keen

I like your boys names although agree that Lucy and Leo may be a bit much. It must be tough choosing names when working with children!

Thanks. That is what I thought about Lucy and Leo. I love them separately but when you say them together it seems a bit like we've tried to match! Annoying.

Those are all lovely names but with the exception of miles and Gregory they're all out as I've taught them all!

I'm not against using names of kids I've taught but it seems that I teach lots of strong boy characters (some lovely and some bring back memories that make me shudder)

Josh would be a Joshua but nn used in day to day life.
I also like Jacob and Sam but they are the names of close relatives!

We had a huge girls list to choose from with both our dds! Why are boys names so much harder?

Love Leo but agree that it doesn't sound right with Lucy.

Ooo Seth is nice.

What about Theo if you like Leo?

Ah yeah, Theo was also on the list. Really like that one

Ah, I read your story Kitty, thinking of you today. Yes, your right boys names are sooooo much harder than girls. My children are called:

Jessie
Luke - who was going to be Lucy if he was a girl
Adam - (who was snatched away in 2012 the week of my planned section but the name Toby was also very much in the running for my darling baby boy)
Gabriella
Baby number 5 - I'm also expecting a baby boy and currently 34 weeks pregnant. My husband and I prefer short names so at one point had Josh and Leo was also mentioned.

I think Lucy and Leo are fine together. And you are choosing a name for life, it's I lay a few years when sibling names are frequently said together.

I love Theo. Max is nice too.

Joshua gets my vote. It gives off the impression of a thoughtful, kind, intelligent person. Goes well with Lucy too.
