Joseph or Henry?

37 weeks and we have massively struggled with boys names. Already have a Samuel who is known as Sam day to day.

We seem to have considered every name on the planet from Noah to Rex, but have realised the only ones, firstly we agree on and secondly, that feel right for longer than a few days are the more traditional - which I think work best with Sam too - we've kind of set out our stall with his name!

Joseph would be Joe day to day and I like that they both have shorter name options, but I think I prefer Henry on the whole atm. If we picked Joseph I'm not sure I'd be keen on using the full version much, which seems wrong. However Henry is a very new option so I'm wobbling, and DH said he can't really picture a baby Henry?!

I think Joseph might go better with Samuel, but are we putting too much weight on that? Do names really have to 'go' together? (So long as they don't rhyme or anything!)

Thoughts? Flowers

sidsgranny · 27/02/2016 18:48

I have a Joseph (known as Joe). Was my grandad's name too and I absolutely love it!

FedoraTheExplora · 27/02/2016 18:54

I love Henry and think it goes wonderfully with Sam! Smile

winkywinkola · 27/02/2016 18:56

Really like them both but think Henry would be my choice. It's cute for a little boy and a nice name in any walk of life. I know a lovely Dad called Henry it's a great name!

Henry - goes lovely with Sam!

Sam and Joe sounds a little boring? Sorry!

thebiscuitindustry · 27/02/2016 21:52

Joseph, although Henry is nice too.

DramaAlpaca · 27/02/2016 21:53

I like both very much, but slightly prefer Joseph with Samuel.

Luc28 · 27/02/2016 22:39

Henry 💙

FlappyRose · 27/02/2016 22:42

Joseph

BendydickCuminsnatch · 28/02/2016 16:05

ds is Joseph Henry Grin I MUCH prefer Joseph, to me Henry sounds a bit stuffy whereas Joseph is very friendly and completely timeless.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 28/02/2016 16:07

Plus I've met way more baby Henrys than Josephs. Henry is fashionable whereas Joseph is a perennial favourite.

dementedma · 28/02/2016 17:30

Joseph. Not Joe.
