Wren

I was just doing a random name generator and Wren came up for a girl. I thought it seemed quite cool but is it crazy?

The other names I like are very normal names such as Martha and Beatrice (Bea). Really struggling to find something I love though. Any other suggestions are very welcome.

I love it

Skrewt · 16/02/2016 11:41

Lovely - sweet

almostthirty · 16/02/2016 11:43

And stimpy? Sorry the first thought that popped into my head was that awful cartoon . Love Martha and Beatrice.

thebiscuitindustry · 16/02/2016 11:55

Sorry that should be Clementine!

Poshsausage · 16/02/2016 12:00

I like it
I like pia and Eden also

meditrina · 16/02/2016 12:11

I'd still think of the Naval Wrens (even though formally disbanded years ago, they live on as veterans, at Remembrance etc). Do you have seafaring connections?

liquidrevolution · 16/02/2016 14:22

Love Wren. DH didnt sadly... Sad Another lovely bird name is Linnet.

And almost, it is Ren and Stimpy.

CloverCarr · 16/02/2016 14:25

It's pretty, but not if DD is likely to be tall/well-built (IMO!)

BunchOfBobs · 16/02/2016 14:33

Wren is one of my favourites for a girl. The other is Nell. DH likes both and has come up with a delightful way to decide between them when baby is born (if they're a girl) something along the lines of Clovers thoughts. "If she's tiny we'll call her Wren, if she's built like Nelly the Elephant then Nell it is".
Oh he has a way with words. Can you imagine the discussion in years to come "Mum how did you decide on my name......" "oh Nell, it just came to us" Blush

Hi Mouse long time no speak. Hope pregnancy is treating you well.

almostthirty · 16/02/2016 18:08

The same pronunciation though liquid

MidnightVelvetthe5th · 16/02/2016 18:12

Love Wren, I knew someone called Wren (Ren possibly) once, it was short for Kerensa.

Alonglongway · 16/02/2016 18:21

DD1 had a classmate called Wren - a boy - I like it

Fangs4themammaries · 16/02/2016 18:23

I like it, and Linnet.

Queenhoneybee · 16/02/2016 18:24

I know a 1 year old Wren, lovely name

mrsschu · 16/02/2016 19:09

I don't like it at all I'm afraid. It sounds a bit silly and faddy IMO, sorry.

imwithspud · 16/02/2016 19:14

I like it, but prefer it if it's short for something. Like Renee.

Quercus3 · 16/02/2016 19:19

Wren is lovely - agree that Linnet is a lovely bird name too, along with Serin and Robin

BettyBi0 · 16/02/2016 19:23

Wren is lovely! It was on my shortlist but sounded duff wth my short surname.

Tinkalinka · 16/02/2016 21:28

I know 2 little Wren's. So sweet x

cornishglos · 16/02/2016 22:44

It's a nice bird but not a nice sound.

BackforGood · 16/02/2016 22:53

I don't like it. It's a noun. Name of a bird, not a person.

VagueIdeas · 16/02/2016 23:04

I agree that it would seem unfortunate if she grew up to be tall or stocky. Wrens are such tiny, delicate little birds.

Flickstar · 18/02/2016 22:48

Love!

KoalaDownUnder · 18/02/2016 22:51

I don't like it.

It's not a nice sound. Better left for the birds, IMO.
