I like it.
But agree it will be Matt.

My eldest DS (18) is called Matthew. Always said I didn't really like the nicknames but he's been Mattie to me since the day he was born. His mates call him Matt.

passmethewineplease · 08/02/2016 15:10

I'm biased. DS is called Matthew.

It does tend to be shortened though but can't say it bothers me too much!

SkodaLabia · 08/02/2016 15:16

It's not my cup of tea but then I don't like George or Oliver either, so at least you're consistent!

It's something that will suit all ages, which is A Good Thing.

Gummibears · 08/02/2016 15:20

Matthew isn't a name I'd choose as I don't like the eew sound.

I like George and Quentin though. Oliver is very popular.

villainousbroodmare · 08/02/2016 18:29

Love.

JadziaSnax · 08/02/2016 18:37

I'm biased, my eldest is Matthew. Love it.

FlysInDreams · 08/02/2016 18:40

I like Matthew, but we had two DDs.

Americanmoninengland · 08/02/2016 21:27

I know a very handsome,smart Matthew,with a wonderful personality.

Absolutelyfabulously · 09/02/2016 01:40

I'm actually not a big fan of the name Matthew, I think due to association of boys I knew growing up. Also not keen on the nn Matt.

Ham69 · 09/02/2016 07:43

Every matthew I know (including DTB) has been a handful. For that reason, I'm out! I like the middle names.

StetsonsAreCool · 09/02/2016 08:01

I love the name Matthew. I always wanted a baby called Matthew growing up (you know, when you're 16 and you plan what your husband will look like and what your babies will be called and where you'll live - just me? 😳)

Anyway, I ended up marrying a Matthew so I can't use it - am gutted. I have a George instead though Grin

MyrtleMoans · 09/02/2016 08:05

My husband is Matthew. He shortens it to Math (and ignores anyone who calls him Matt or Matty)

Lmes · 09/02/2016 15:03

I am in Ireland and have a Matthew. Despite it being a popular name he has been the only Matthew in his class . He is 13 and his friends call him Matty. It is a cool name . I love it and I'm glad we called him Matthew .

HolsW · 10/02/2016 05:49

Love Matthew! Matthew George Oliver is lovely! :)

Alwaysinahurrynow · 10/02/2016 06:18

Love it! Definitely try it out if you aren't sure, we waited three days each time to announce our names, and we changed one DS's name in that time as we decided it didn't suit.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/02/2016 06:36

Love it.

I like it with both your middle names. I love Matt even more, but I don't think it's inevitable that it'll be shortened.

bushtailadventures · 10/02/2016 06:39

I have a Matthew, lovely name, although it gets shortened to Matt or Matty by just about everyone now, including me, even though I swore I wouldn't shorten it ever Blush

I like your choice of middle names too, for what it's worth, all nice and classic.

SpecialStains · 10/02/2016 08:44

I have only ever met lovely Matthews. And Michaels.
