I'm loving Brodie - I came across a lovely one and now I can't stay away from it!

Boy or girl
I like it for a Boy

DontKillMyVibe · 05/02/2016 20:06

Popular in America. Not for me at all.

Peppapigallowsmetoshower · 05/02/2016 20:07

I'd say boy. I wouldn't personally use it but I think it's a really lovely name.

IHeartKingThistle · 05/02/2016 20:07

I met a gorgeous little boy called Brodie recently too and since then I've really liked the name.

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 05/02/2016 20:08

makes me think of the Jaws films!

HeteronormativeHaybales · 05/02/2016 20:09

No.

GraceS123 · 05/02/2016 20:10

For a boy... It's Scottish (Brody is the American version)

I know a very grown up one who is now retired. I think t is an excellent name.

Squashybanana · 05/02/2016 20:11

It means 'second son'. It grows on me....

Sophronia · 05/02/2016 20:12

I think it's ok

daisydalrymple · 05/02/2016 20:13

It's making me think of The Professionals- am I showing my age?? Grin bodie and Doyle I think? I like it anyway, it also makes me think of homeland actor for some reason? I only watched one series but is that his name?

LadyLuck81 · 05/02/2016 20:13

I've a cousin Brodie - lovely

WileHallion · 05/02/2016 20:15

It goes against all my usual naming preferences but I really love it.

weasle · 05/02/2016 20:15

I think it's dreadful, sorry.

Frazzled2207 · 05/02/2016 20:17

I love it. But dh vetoed on the basis that I blatantly fancied the Homeland character, though Brody was his surname.
Prefer Brody spelling.

GraceS123 · 05/02/2016 20:18

I usually only like 'popular' names and I think this is the only 'not so popular' one I like!

Oh i like it if any of Dds had been boys I had Brodie or Blair as names

DangerMouth · 05/02/2016 20:20

I really like it, go for it!

weebarra · 05/02/2016 20:20

I like it. Not uncommon here in Scotland. I think of it in the same group as Struan, Harris, Murdo!

Saveferris1234 · 05/02/2016 20:23

I have a Brodie and he's lovely Grin. Therefore, it must be a lovely name!

WaverleyOwl · 05/02/2016 20:26

It's a dogs name to me, as I had a friend with a retriever called Brodie when I was little. And I grew up in Scotland. But if you love it, go for it! I like it!

MadameDePompom · 05/02/2016 21:26

I like it.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 05/02/2016 23:32

I only know a girl with this name but it is nice for either.

ClaireD2212 · 06/02/2016 00:23

I really like it :) DH didn't :(

Primaryteach87 · 06/02/2016 00:27

I think of terrorist from Homeland....sorry! Not sure if that would be a unusual connection (probably, so ignore me!)
