Ah google tells me that FMF was FMB's grandson.

brookeberry · 04/02/2016 15:58

Maddox is rather lovely.

Chloeisobelle21 · 04/02/2016 18:34

Ohh I thought they would get better reviews than this, haha I'm put off Jax now and Ajax. I just want something that's not too common! Albert was the name of my grans brother who died in a horrible way so I didn't really want Albert, but I thought Albie was cute but could also be Alby? Which sounds more grown up. I really like Maddox!

I'm 25 so never heard of Ajax being a cleaner, they are all names I found on a baby website titled as unusual but too ott.

NOT to OTT I mean.

I like Axel but don't want people to think it's a reference to Axel Rose.

Ajax is like Cif (or Jif as it was back in the day). Not a good name for a child.

OnceMoreIntoTheBleach · 04/02/2016 18:49

I used to know a Dax. It's a French boy's name. Always loved the name but names with last letter of X would not have worked for my DS as surname begins with S.

mrsschu · 04/02/2016 20:20

They're all dreadful. Well Albie (not Alby) is ok but is really a nn for something else IMO. I'd say scrap them all and start again!

00100001 · 04/02/2016 21:52

Go for Albert, call him Albie as a nn

RiverTam · 04/02/2016 22:07

Well, Axl Rose isn't spelt Axel so I doubt people would associate the two unless you spelt it Axl. Axel is the usual German nn for Alexander, isn't it? I quite like it.

Aias is the actual Greek name of the god, Ajax is the Roman version.

looki · 04/02/2016 23:30

I remember Ajax the cleaning product

The names sound like Brad and Angelina's children's names to me.

If I had to choose, I would go with Maddox.

BikeRunSki · 04/02/2016 23:38

I don't think many people roils instantly associate Axel with axel Rose. Axel Is a great name.

Maxwell ?
Alexei?
Felix?
Phoenix?
Rex?
Dexter?

Teapot13 · 05/02/2016 02:16

Jax is a snack food in the US. Covered in artificially colored cheese powder. Mmm. . .

mouldycheesefan · 05/02/2016 07:34

Not axle is part of a car. And axel rose. Doesn't matter if you spell it different it sounds the same.

Th consensus here is Albie is the best option, but don't invent your own spelling of Alby.

iminshock · 05/02/2016 08:48

All bad. Very bad.

MitzyLeFrouf · 05/02/2016 10:14

Please don't pick Albie! Sounds like a chipmunk's name.

Maddox is the best from your list.

MissLiv · 05/02/2016 13:16

Not keen on any... Albie is okay (better as a NN for Albert) Jax is better as Jaxon, IMO... Maddox would be next and the cleaning product last...

EmpressOfTheVulvaCupcakes · 05/02/2016 13:21

Jaxon or Maddox. I think Albie is quite twee & babyish tbh & all names ending in -bert are ugly so I wouldn't use it as a short for Albert.

I really like Ajax but mostly because I love the newer COD games. Grin

Chloeisobelle21 · 05/02/2016 22:28

I did like it but I'm put off now I know it's a cleaner brand haha!

Sorry, I don't like any of them. Ajax is a cleaning product, Jax sounds like a Star Trek alien, I've never heard Maddox used except as a surname, and Albie is cute for a baby but not a grown man.

Albert? Jack?

romanrainsalot · 06/02/2016 21:25

Trying to hard. Cleaning products and Dutch football team springs to mind. Maddox Taylor sounds like Mad dogs Taylor.
