Just that really!

It is remarkable that somebody would use a boys name for a girl. It simply is.

Lindsay
Ashley
Robin
Meredith
Marion

... Were all boy's names first...I imagine in a couple decades Jayden will be fair game for either sex. Op is just ahead of her time.

As far as I'm aware, Moggie, Robin still is a boy's name. Robyn is a girl's name. I knew John Wayne's real name was Marion but I'd never heard of a male Meredith. Interesting.

Belbin is a Meridith, isn't he? The one with all the team role theories so beloved of my boss.

Meredith is traditionally a Welsh male name, usually spelled Meredydd.

Meredith is the anglicised spelling.

They're not pronounced in quite the same way either, Meredith and Meredydd.

Will do some googling, can't remember where I read it. Surely makes sense in a misogynist society, girls with male names escape the initial cv prejudice.

Life outcomes may have been overstating it somewhat, I think it may have been a study of job applications.

The question with Jayden however spelled would be whether the advantages of being male could overcome the class connotations. Would it be better to be Jayden or Octavia when applying for a job? Possibly it would depend on what the job was. However why should the Op care if she likes Jayden.

In the NHS - one of the biggest employers in the world - we don't see the names until we're at the interviewing stage. Many of the other leading employers are now doing this too - one of the main reasons is to 'un-white' the bias.

Interestingly, according to this article - girls with gender neutral names (like Cameron) are more likely to do well in certain fields whilst people with uncommon or unpopular names are more likely to be associated with juvenile delinquency.

Jayden sounds like a play on the word Jade. I would just go for Jade or something completely different x
