Elliot would be his middle name and he might go by Billy - so I'm not sure...

Do you prefer William (Billy) or Edward (Teddy)?

I think it's fine. How often does someone get referred to by a nickname and then their middle name?

HollyMW · 26/01/2016 19:02

I know, but William is Billy's name

Yes, absolutely fine! Nice names!

Villain (William Walter Elliot) in Jane Austen's "Persuasion" but, a really nice combination of names, especially if he is William Elliot Lastname.

It's fine, I agree that people aren't often referred to as their nickname + middle name. I love Billy short for William and prefer it to Edward / Teddy which is a bit overdone at the moment.

Either a villain or the reason ballet schools are fuller with boys than girls, or both. I think it's fine.

Hmm tricky one. I have a William who's known as Billy. Its probably OK as a first/middle name combo because if you are ever in the situation of having to give both names its usually 'full' first name and William Elliot sounds fine. Still not sure if I would. Maybe add another middle name between them?

If Elliot is the middle name then it's absolutely fine. How often do people even mention their middle names? Hardly ever!
