Simple vote, if you don't like either then each to their own but no need to comment :)

Asher, by a mile

NadiaWadia · 26/01/2016 00:30

Asher - it's a proper name (one of Joseph's brothers in the Bible I think), and has a nice sound.

Archer doesn't work well as a first name, you feel like he'll need a bow and arrow.

Asher

ClarenceTheLion · 26/01/2016 01:14

Asher

WinterBabyHMW · 26/01/2016 11:04

I like Archie, but not Archer. Ash is a really cute/cool shortening! I vote Asher :)

SqueegyBeckinheim · 26/01/2016 11:06

Asher, lovely name.

Sophronia · 26/01/2016 13:36

Asher

Ilovegummibaers · 26/01/2016 13:37

Asher definately!

Archer may end up as Archie - that's way overused and will date soon imo.

mrsschu · 26/01/2016 19:18

Asher, it's biblical, has a sense of gravitas to it.

Archer sounds a bit American, made up, try hard for me (even if it isn't).

namechange7711 · 26/01/2016 19:36

Asher. It's a name. Archer is a job description.

Izzyathome · 26/01/2016 20:11

Definitely Archer. Arch or Archie are good nicknames too. Asher sounds wishy washy to me and I would assume a boy called Ash was named Ashley, which I really dislike.

Izzyathome · 26/01/2016 20:18

Asher also immediately reminds me of Brimful of Asha, but that's just me showing my age! No one in England pronounces the 'er' so you get 'Asha'. (I guess the same could be said for Archer though...)

Provencalroseparadox · 26/01/2016 20:23

Archer

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/01/2016 21:11

Absolutely love Asher. Absolutely hate Archer. I think they are very different names, with very different connotations.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/01/2016 21:12

Archer.

Asher is awful.

sunnydayinmay · 26/01/2016 21:14

Asher, but I know a lovely asher. Archer just sounds like a made up name.

Champagneformyrealfriends · 26/01/2016 23:12

Asher

Mclaren37 · 26/01/2016 23:37

Love Archer. Strong, masculine, poetic sounding.
Asher = meh. I don't really like the way it sounds when said out loud.

BroadcastHouse · 27/01/2016 00:12

Another vote for Archer here. Great name. But then mine are Angus & Archie so I am biased.

(Amy Poelher's kids are Archie & Abel, and the woman is a genius :). Incredibly cute imo. )

BendydickCuminsnatch · 27/01/2016 10:38

Love both, probably prefer Archer.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 27/01/2016 10:40

Like both but prefer Archer

Sofiria · 27/01/2016 12:02

I prefer Asher.
