I really love the name Beatrice (nn Bea) but it's just occurred to me that would make the initials BS.. Should I think again? :(

I vote think again, sorry.

WanderingTrolley1 · 26/01/2016 00:54

Yes. Think again.

f1fan2015 · 26/01/2016 01:05

You are thinking too hard. I had a lovely time with my OH thinking up funny initials for our DD - am still sad we did not go with the extra middle name and end up with ABCD instead of just ABD Grin

Boosiehs · 26/01/2016 01:09

My DH is BS. It's really not an issue.

hadenough111 · 26/01/2016 01:14

My DS is BS. And my dad. Never been an issue.

Go with the name you love.

Out2pasture · 26/01/2016 01:18

youngest is not only bs but also bm....s is his middle name.
no one has ever mentioned anything, certainly no teasing was ever mentioned growing up and nothing now as an adult.
btw as number 3 I let my hubby pick his name entirely without my input....

BettyBi0 · 26/01/2016 01:58

Maybe it could be a problem later on at work. In my office people are always referred to as their initials in minutes or project plans to denote ownership of a task.

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 26/01/2016 07:11

My work is the same.. Our Chief Exec has the initials BS! It made me pause for a second the first time I wrote it! But was thinking more in school our initials were used quite a bit too :(

I'm BS and it has never been a problem. This is on marriage though, so I didn't deal with it as a child. I usually add my middle initial for minutes etc.,but often don't bother anymore.

fondationmaeght · 26/01/2016 07:24

My DD is BS and never really thought or worried about it

It's fine :)

DontKillMyVibe · 28/01/2016 21:34

I wouldn't give it any thought if I saw the initials BS

jukeboxdive · 28/01/2016 22:30

I went to school with a CRAP and an ARSE, neither of them ever had any problems.

BameShange · 28/01/2016 22:59

These are my initials. I am over 40, and literally nobody has ever commented on them. I doubt it will be an issue.

eachtigertires · 29/01/2016 03:11

My DP has these initials. It's never been an issue for him.

icklekid · 29/01/2016 04:02

No I wouldn't worry about it my ds has initials TB and initially I was worried however it really doesn't matter (speaking as a primary teacher) they can always use middle name initials if don't like it in future!

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 29/01/2016 10:03

Thanks everyone! I was talking to my friend yesterday who pointed out her initials are ET and no-one has ever commented on it :) DH says I'm over thinking it too.. Glad because I really do love the name :)
