is it only okay for an autumn baby or middle name?

I was about to say I know a Sapphire and then I realised she was born in September!

I never noticed before, hmm.

leghoul · 19/01/2016 23:40

it's okay for a pet cat

leghoul · 19/01/2016 23:40

Faye is better!

squoosh · 19/01/2016 23:41

Yes, a very haughty cat. One of those really snooty white fluffy ones.

squoosh · 19/01/2016 23:42

Sapphire.

Faye is lovely.

leghoul · 19/01/2016 23:43

it's the eyes Grin

PotOfYoghurt · 19/01/2016 23:44

Good lord that cat looks like the Sapphire I know. How bizarre.

PaigeyK · 19/01/2016 23:46

Urgh. Lap dancer.

iciclewinter · 20/01/2016 00:02

Faye would be a lovely choice.

Faye Louise
Faye Elizabeth
Faye Isobel
Faye Juliet
Faye Georgina
Faye Victoria
Faye Rebecca
Faye Jasmine
Faye Melissa
Faye Nicole
Faye Sophia

I thought of a few middle names starting with C or K too, but then thought it might sound like Fake Whatever.

PaigeyK · 20/01/2016 00:11

ah thanks, i really like:

Faye Isabelle
Faye Victoria
Faye Sophia

yes, i see what you mean about the c/k!

Stripper. Or a chav with a sibling called Chardonnay or Porsche. Sorry Blush

OhSoGraceful · 20/01/2016 00:36

How about Safiya?

I don't dislike Faye, but I don't think fey always has great connotations.

HawkEyeTheNoo · 20/01/2016 00:42

My cat was called Sapphire, she's dead now though, but she had the most beautiful eyes. I tended to call her Saffy

CozyLinusBlanket · 20/01/2016 01:06

Faye is a good safe name. I can't see anyone objecting to that!

But with Sapphire, you never know... the Cath Kidston retro names have been in vogue for such a good long while now, there is bound to be a change sooner or later. I just don't know what the change will be! Personally I'd love the 70s names to come back - Wayne, Sharon, Tracey, Gavin, Carol Grin

But maybe the shift would be to more glamorous 80s names. Sapphire would fit in there. I know of a baby Blaze...

nooka · 20/01/2016 05:54

I quite like Sapphire. Makes me think of Sapphire and Steele, so Joanna Lumley. That's a good association in my mind Grin

Faye is very different!

Focusfocus · 20/01/2016 06:03

No... Too flimsy/jazzy/snazzy/Vegas-ey IYSWIM

guiltynetter · 20/01/2016 06:07

I love sapphire :)

Sunshine511 · 20/01/2016 08:00

See i didn't have any associations for the name Sapphire so was thinking it sounded nice until I read the comments!! This is why these forums are so useful! Faye is lovely, or as a PP said, Saffron would also be a nice alternative :) x

PaulAnkaTheDog · 20/01/2016 09:28

Faye is lovely Smile

midsomermurderess · 20/01/2016 10:05

I don't see why not if Ruby, Pearl etc are acceptable.

NHKX2 · 20/01/2016 12:01

I agree with previous posters. Sapphire screams pole dancer. I can't say why Opal and Ruby have managed to go respectable mainstream and Sapphire hasn't...

AuntGertrude · 20/01/2016 13:38

To get approx. the same sounding name, you could have Sophia instead.

Sophronia · 20/01/2016 14:03

I think it's nice, but I probably wouldn't use it myself due to the associations.

Sapphira / Saffira are quite pretty too.
