Please help...I am nearing last weeks with no name picked out....
Lots of my name choices has not got hubbyss approval.
Not a fan of anything too popular generally.
Our daughter is Kathleen known as Kitty and is a famiky name have found nothing that I like anywhere near as much.
Names that have not had hubbys approval are Florence, Saskia (sassy) Ada,Aurora mm Rory. Beatrix...
Things we are considering..Bonnie (Bea) for short, Penelope (worried too popular?nn Penny), Truly nn Tru, Elizabeth n Liza, Martha (family name like mimi as nn but maybe too similar to Kitty/Kit) love Martha May but apparently that's the griches gf name!? What is your fave/ opinions...any other suggestions?
Tia

Oh I used to dream of having a DD Lettice after seeing a very glam one on Miss Marple (I think). Wouldn't get past Dh though even if I was brave enough! Think it's fab.

srslylikeomg · 19/01/2016 23:17

It's been mentioned but I love Araminta nn Minty. Fabulous name!

Tabitha (Tabby)
Harriet (Hattie)
Dulcie
Alicia (Lissy)
Lynette, Jeanette, Annette (Nettie)

CaptainWarbeck · 20/01/2016 02:44

Motherofdragons I love your names. Have always liked Heidi but DH won't have it.

Ada is very cute, nn Adie.

CheerfulYank · 20/01/2016 03:28

We have a Margaret called Maggie :) Though she insists her name is Boogie...

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 20/01/2016 03:37

MArgaret or Marguerite can also have Daisy as a nn. :)

(Although I do rather love Boogie, CY! Grin)

cranberryx · 20/01/2016 03:45

Penelope = Penny 😄

m0therofdragons · 20/01/2016 07:51

Thank you captainwarbeck
Heidi was dh's idea after meeting one on holiday - she was 4 and competely bonkers (everything a 4 year old should be). I love their names Grin

BertrandRussell · 20/01/2016 08:19

Please remember that they are only babies and small children for a tiny bit of their lives- they will be teenagers then grown ups for much longer. Name the teenager and the grown up, not the baby!

JenniferAnistonsHair · 20/01/2016 08:37

I really love the name Meredith. Possibly Merry for short??

Also like
Charlotte (Charley, Lottie or Lotte)
Madeleine (Maddy)
Francesca (Cesca/Chesca)
Jasmine (Jazz)
Rosalind (Rosa or Roz)
Romily (Romy)
Annabelle (Annie or Belle)

And I agree that Elizabeth gives a huge amount of nicknames but I couldn't use it as it is MILs name & she'd insist we'd named the baby after her, even if that absolutely wasn't the case! Love Betsy out of all the nicknames I think, or possibly even Lizzie as it's less common

Good luck!!

Ooh some lovely suggestions..thank you all so much..many of he suggestions have been used in our dogs, already in the family..I love Posey but hubby not keen..and Dulcie was a previous face for dd1. Actually like Ari Arianna. Also like Patsy. I am.aware many of the names I like have a cutesy air about them but that's why I would like a longer proper name so that they have that in backup up when older. Love bluebell too..Bonnie Bluebell too much? Middle name for Martha? We have a three syllable surname beginning with B..
