Opinions on Scott?

Nah. It's of an era with Brett/Jason/Troy/Bradley. Best left there, IMO.

Danger, they were all v common boys' names in 1980s Australia. I had loads in my classes, along with the more classic Matthews/Thomases/Daniels, etc. I think that's why they make me shudder!

Am fascinated to know which other names people would like, now. How about

I think Scott is a very plain name, but then I do like the more uncommon names. DS is Miller, but also like Sailor, Ryder, and Turner.

It would've been my name if I'd been a boy, I was born in the 80s though. I still think it's a nice name.

I'm an Aussie too Koala which is why l think l like them slightly homesick. But l don't like any from your second list. That's just pushing the envelope too far

It doesn't sound dated at all to me as it's just one of those names that is always about.

Calling a Scot Scott always strikes me as being so very unimaginative.

Went to school, with loads of Scott's they all turned out to be criminals or on the dole so I don't have any good associations with the name
