Does it matter if names are from famous tv/film?!

DS1 is Edward but family call him teddy/Ted.

Having issues with boys list for #2.

Two boys names we both like....
Jacob. But then we have Edward and Jacob like Twilight

Barnaby. But then we have Ted and Barny like how I met your mother...

Does this matter?? Will anyone remember in a few yrs?!

I don't think it matters. Neither in my opinion are iconic pairings in that you don't immediately think of the one upon hearing the other.

Go for the name you like the best.

I really don't think it matters.

I have never seen or read any Twilight, do would not make anything of Edward and Jacob.

My DC have the same names as the pair who do a local radio breakfast show...

I think in those instances the link isn't very obvious so it doesn't matter. I only wouldn't if it was something like Ant & Dec

Smile ha ha bikerunskI!

I think I'm over paranoid as I'm spending most evenings watching HIMYM on netflix at min (actually where Barnaby idea came from!)

I think Twilight has been and gone now,and in any case if your Edward is known as Teddy/Ted then it's not an obvious connection.

I've never watched How I Met Your Mother so can't comment on that. Is it very popular?

SilentBob · 10/01/2016 21:04

I probably wouldn't go for Bill with a Ted already but I reckon the others are fair game Grin

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 10/01/2016 21:05

Edward and Jacob are fine, so are Bill and Ted.

If you were talking Khaleesi and Drogo, it'd be a bit weird.

BikeRunSki · 10/01/2016 21:07

I know a Stanley and Oliver, but no one ever seems to comment on them.

MariaV0nTrapp · 10/01/2016 21:10

I know it's not the same but my ds is called Oliver Stanley.. The first thing my mum said was.. "After Laurel and Hardy?"

I don't think it matters with siblings.. Unless it's really current like Ant and Dec.
