Traditional but pretty girls names? And maybe a few boys names too please!

Hi,

DC2 due in 5 weeks and really struggling for girls names - got a few boys names that will do but nothing that feels "right" yet!

For girls I have always wanted a Sophie, but have gone off it recently. Now wondering about Elsie/Eva/Libby but struggling to convince DH-he likes Victoria/Emily. I really don't like them!

Boys we have Toby/Edward (although this is DS's middle name so I don't feel right about using that!)

Please throw names at me!

For girls, I love Emma, Louisa and Susanna - as mentioned above. All lovely and really not heard much these days.

For boys, I agree with Miles and Edgar mentioned above.
Also what about Patrick or Timothy or even Stephen? These will sound much "fresher' than Toby or Edward, of which there are LOADS around at the moment - every other baby I meet seems to be Toby/Teddy or Theo! But maybe popularity isn't an issue with you.

Good Luck with whatever you decide!

Stuckerooni · 06/01/2016 20:24

Wow thanks for all the suggestions!

I'm liking Lilian, Erin, penny and Edmund,Alex for boys. DH is refusing all of them - seems to only like names of people we know which I don't want a don't want to associate with anyone!

Forgot to say we already have a Thomas and fairly long surname (Robertson) which puts me off some of the boys names I like otherwise (Christopher/Nicholas)

Why is it so hard?!

To go with Thomas, I like...
Scarlett
Annabelle
Grace

Or...
Samuel
William
Edwin

Good luck!!
