We are going to call our 2nd little girl Orla I love it!

At the moment we are planning on Orla Emerald, but just wanted some more options for MN

Our surname is Peregreen if that helps

Sorry but I don't think Emerald goes with Orla or with your surname.

What about another Irish name such as

Orla Maeve

FourForYouGlenCoco · 03/01/2016 09:13

I have an Orla! Fab name, have never regretted it for a single second. But sadly I agree that Orla Emerald doesn't sound quite right, I think maybe it's the vowel after the vowel? It feels a bit awkward to say out loud. Think you need something short and sweet. I have an Orla Fae, we liked Orla May too but her initials would have been OMG! Orla Grace is nice too - anything really that's 1 syllable and starts with a consonant I reckon.

Emerald (green gem) and peregreen (more green...)

Too many greens!

For no reason whatsoever, I like orla Joanne.

Orla Katherine
Orla Michelle
Orla (granny's name?)
Orla (your middle name?)

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/01/2016 10:40

Orla Emerald Peregreen is far too much of a mouthful and it doesn't even flow.
With the last name being so long a short mn is better suited.
Orla Frances Peregreen
Orla Beth Peregreen
Orla Marie Peregreen
Orla Jess Peregreen
Orla Ruby Peregreen

I like orla grace and orla may.. I agree that emerald doesn't sound right together but it's what you like!.. I do love orla though!

tangerinesarenottheonlyfruit · 03/01/2016 12:04

Do you not think that Grace and May are becoming a tad overused?

tangerinesarenottheonlyfruit · 03/01/2016 12:06

And Rose too while we're at it?

Lovely names, all of them, but surely there must be zillions of them now?

insancerre · 03/01/2016 12:17

I know an Orlaith, her sister is Niamh
Orla Niamh is easier to say then orla emerald

Horseshoe1 · 03/01/2016 13:02

Orla Jade

peregreen · 04/01/2016 09:12

This is way I have gone for Emerald because I'm fed up of hearing May, Rose, Grace etc.. I wanted something different :)

Orla Violet
Orla Esme
Orla Eden
Orla Ferne

gincamelbak · 04/01/2016 11:59

I like Orla Emerald!

How often are you going to say the full name for it to be a mouthful with the surname? Hardly ever. So go with it!

AmysTiara · 04/01/2016 12:12

Orla Sophia
Orla Jasmine
Orla Nicole
Orla Violet

or if you're set on jewels, Orla Ruby or Orla Topaz sound okay

MrsCaecilius · 04/01/2016 14:24

I wish I had a surname as brilliant as yours!

Love Orla and I think Orla Peregreen is amazing. As it is so amazing I think it can carry Emerald, in a way that a lesser surname couldn't.

Orla Emerald Smith = rubbish
Orla Emerald Peregreen = romantic heroine!

tangerinesarenottheonlyfruit · 04/01/2016 14:40

I agree, Orla Emerald Peregreen is a great name ;)

AngelsWithFilthySouls · 04/01/2016 16:01

We would have used Orlaith Beth if had a DD so I second ilive's suggestion of that.

peregreen · 05/01/2016 17:42

Yeah I've got my hubby to thank for the gorgeous surname I love it! It's Welsh :)

I thank we will probably go with Orla Emerald :) i think it goes nice with our first born Elsie Willow too :)

I do like

Orla Marie and Orla Jasmine as well though

While I get the slight "stop" as you say the name, I still think it's magnificent. Go for it, definitely.

peregreen · 06/01/2016 21:50

I think its really quirky and unusual, that's what I love about it :)
