Xander or Rudy?

Baby due in 4 weeks and we don't know the gender. We have decided on our girls name, which is Heidi, and have narrowed our boys name to Xander or Rudy.
Which do you prefer?

Do you like The Specials? Rudy automatically makes me sing their song in my head. Think Edith Bowman called her baby boy Rudy. It is a nice name and I prefer it to Xander I think.

I prefer Xander, only because... Rudy will probably be Rude, not as like an official NN, but every now and then, you may shorten it to Rude and I just prefer Xand :)

Thanks. It's nice to get some different opinions. I change my mind between them daily. Maybe we should wait and see what he looks like and if it's a girl we won't need to pick.

Rudy by miles, I think Xander is a bit try-hard (sorry!).

All the Rudys I know are nn Roo rather than Rude which I think is really sweet (including one in his late 20s).
