Penelope and Rupert have the best flow in full names not sure about Bear though

KnockMeDown · 23/12/2015 07:26

I like Penny and Albie best, but none are bad.

MyNameIsSuz · 23/12/2015 07:29

I think all of them sound fine together, so which boy's name do you like best on its own? I think I'd go for Theodore or Felix. Theodore is the most similar to Penelope in that it has a few different shortenings (Theo, Ted, like Penny, Nell) so they would both have similar potential for choosing how they want to shorten their name. But I don't know how much that matters really. The only one I'm really not keen on is Monty (sorry).

Lucymatilde · 23/12/2015 07:33

You can't call a boy Theodore. Poor thing.

CwtchMeQuick · 23/12/2015 07:41

Penelope and James.
I like Theodore and Edward but personally I don't like your shortenings.
I like albie though

Penelope and Albert

CelestiaLuna · 23/12/2015 09:17

How about Sebastian?

GoldPlatedBacon · 23/12/2015 09:51

Otto

lugo40 · 23/12/2015 10:50

thank you all for your comments and thoughts. I am not so keen on Sebastian, thank you for the suggestion though.

I'd choose Rupert or Felix out of those.

lugo40 · 23/12/2015 11:35

Rupert, Monty and Otto are the only ones not in the top 100 so they are my preferences as i don't want anything too popular.

I think Rupert might be my favourite but maybe shortend to Roo instead of Bear.

I do really like Monty still too.

i also like Ralph - Penelope and Ralph?

I think the more i think about it the more i like Rupert :)

Penny & James.
Agree that Penny & Rupert will be shortened to Penny & Roo.

Pinklily1 · 23/12/2015 16:25

You could shorten Rupert to 'Rup' or 'Rups' as well.

Belazu84 · 23/12/2015 16:37

I think Penny and Albie

Jesabel · 23/12/2015 16:39

Monty, Rupert and Otto are awful, Rupert is painfully posh and Otto and Monty sound like labradors.

Lucymatilde · 23/12/2015 16:56

They are Labradors.

xmasseason · 23/12/2015 19:43

Bear and Teddy - not keen, too cutesy as associated with toys
Monty - rather wet
Theodore - yes but with Theo as nickname
James - yes
Albert - yes although I prefer Bertie to Albie
Felix - yes
Otto - no, too faddy

lugo40 · 27/12/2015 08:05

I think we're agreed on Penelope and james. James is very popular which bothers me but it's the only Boys name we agree on and it goes nicely with penny

Lizziedripping1 · 27/12/2015 21:02

Penelope and James I think

James was popular but isn't so much now just a few around at the moment amongst babies.

I knew someone who called their child Rupert but the baby developed a lisp and Woopert made everyone fall about laughing all the time...poor child was bullied terribly so I don't have many good associations with the name

nooka · 27/12/2015 21:55

Penelope and James sound like a good combination. We have a Theodore and a Rupert in our family, and no Edwards, but a Ned, an Edmund and an Edwin. None of them have ever been called either Teddy or Bear!
