Can't decide between Thea Ivy or Lydia Ivy. Love both - which would you choose?

Lydia

Sophronia · 20/12/2015 22:41

Lydia Ivy sounds better IMO.

Cornelialovett · 20/12/2015 22:43

Two lovely names. Not keen on either with ivy. Kind of needs another name too.
For eg
Thea elizabeth ivy
Lydia Elizabeth ivy.
IMO.

Devora · 20/12/2015 22:44

They're both lovely; I marginally prefer Lydia.

BingoBonkers · 20/12/2015 22:49

Burgatroyd · 21/12/2015 12:17

Lydia!

Clawdy · 21/12/2015 19:50

Thea definitely. More unusual than Lydia.

Hiddlesnake · 21/12/2015 19:51

I love Thea. But I don't think it goes with Ivy particularly well.

Yika · 21/12/2015 19:53

Lydia.

Wildernessrock · 21/12/2015 19:56

Thea, but not with Ivy, I agree it needs a longer middle name!

ThursdayLastWeek · 21/12/2015 19:56

Lydia.
Though I actually love Thea I just don't pronounce my 'th's well so I sound a bit fick Blush

CorporeSarnie · 21/12/2015 19:58

Think the two soft vowels at the end of Lydia or Thea don't work with Ivy, a consonant world work better e.g Thea Marie.
Much prefer Thea, except if you're in S Ldn, where it is pronounced "Fear".

GoldPlatedBacon · 21/12/2015 19:58

Lydia
Lydia
Lydia!

teacher1984 · 21/12/2015 19:59

Lydia!!!

HelenaJustina · 21/12/2015 20:04

I like both but agree that Ivy might not be the best fit, they don't have a very nice mouth feel!
Elizabeth works as does Marie suggested above.

GracieGraives · 21/12/2015 20:36

Thea by miles!

Mydearchild · 21/12/2015 20:41

Thea or Theodora Ivy but Thea for short

xmasseason · 21/12/2015 21:16

Lydia. Not keen on Thea.

Mrspopper · 22/12/2015 09:19

Thea! I have a Thea and we get lots if compliments on it. I also know a horrible person called Lydia so that puts me off.

Mrspopper · 22/12/2015 09:20

Ps am in south london and she never gets called fear.

PeasinPod1 · 22/12/2015 09:38

Lydia, Thea doesn't sound like an actual name to me, sounds a bit harsh and not feminine.
Agree they dont go with Ivy though, Ivy is vintage, very unique, quirky, Thea and Lydia are not.

AuntieStella · 22/12/2015 09:41

I prefer Lydia.

I don't think either name goes terribly well with Ivy (Coronation Street name), but neither are they no-nos together (is Ivy a relative you are honouring?)

Blu · 22/12/2015 09:46

I like Thea, Lydia and Ivy.
But names that end in a vowel don't run well into names that begin with a vowel, IMO.
Or rather they run together as if one long name joined an invisible 'r'. TheaRivy, LydiaRivy.

diddl · 22/12/2015 10:41

I love them all!

I think Lydia Ivy.

soundsystem · 22/12/2015 20:18

Lydia! There are so many Theas!
