Scarlett or Willow?

My personal preference is
Scarlett. To me, it sounds like a stronger personality. Willow sounds a bit weak and drippy. However, once she is named, the name will reflect her personality. Even the weirdest names become normal once attached to someone you know!

They're both quite popular though, there's one of each in DDs y3 class.

I loved the name Scarlett for my dd but what put me off in the end is that I found it it is sometimes shortened to Scar! So for that reason my vote is for Willow! Gorgeous name!x

They are both lovely and would have been on our shortlist if having a dd - there were quite a few Scarletts around 10 years ago though haven't heard many recently....less Willows -
Are you doing middle names? have you checked the initials work Smile we only had two names and waited for ds to arrive before deciding....and that worked for us

I have a Scarlett. My sister sometimes calls her Scar but soon stops after I give her a death stare. She's the only person who has ever shortened it. I'd go with Scarlett, obviously. Grin

I like Willow but for some reason it sounds a sad name to me? Don't have any idea why.

Both are nice names though.

I know what you mean about it sounding sad, like its quite a maudlin feeling from it! I think it's my preference though!

Thanks sunshine I agree it doesn't need to be shortened at all! DD does have nickname though...ScarlyWarly but she doesn't actually get called that! Grin

I have a Willow. Don't like it as much as I did but her name always gets compliments. Like Scarlett but would never use it as me and DH are blushers and if we passed that on I wouldn't want the connection made to her name! Weird, I know.

I have a friend whose daughters are Willow & Scarlett - I like both but slightly prefer Scarlett - sounds stronger.
