What do people prefer? We are really struggling to decide! Smile.

Both are beautiful

Sorry - I know that's no help at all!

Wineandpopcorn · 11/12/2015 08:39

Ha ha thank you! We keep switching between the two!!

Willow, definitely

IamSantaClaus · 11/12/2015 08:58

Willow although they're both nice names

cecinestpasunepipe · 11/12/2015 09:08

My personal preference is
Scarlett. To me, it sounds like a stronger personality. Willow sounds a bit weak and drippy. However, once she is named, the name will reflect her personality. Even the weirdest names become normal once attached to someone you know!

R0nJ0n · 11/12/2015 09:15

Willow.

They're both quite popular though, there's one of each in DDs y3 class.

Sunshine511 · 11/12/2015 09:19

I loved the name Scarlett for my dd but what put me off in the end is that I found it it is sometimes shortened to Scar! So for that reason my vote is for Willow! Gorgeous name!x

averythinline · 11/12/2015 09:21

They are both lovely and would have been on our shortlist if having a dd - there were quite a few Scarletts around 10 years ago though haven't heard many recently....less Willows -
Are you doing middle names? have you checked the initials work Smile we only had two names and waited for ds to arrive before deciding....and that worked for us

passmethewineplease · 11/12/2015 09:22

I have a Scarlett. My sister sometimes calls her Scar but soon stops after I give her a death stare. She's the only person who has ever shortened it. I'd go with Scarlett, obviously. Grin

I like Willow but for some reason it sounds a sad name to me? Don't have any idea why.

Both are nice names though.

Wineandpopcorn · 11/12/2015 09:34

I know what you mean about it sounding sad, like its quite a maudlin feeling from it! I think it's my preference though!

Willow is gorgeous. X

AwfulCuntForTheButter · 11/12/2015 09:40

Maybe the sadness aspect comes from 'weeping willow'? Just a thought!

Sunshine511 · 11/12/2015 09:50

Good for you passmethewineplease for putting your foot down!! Scarlett is so beautiful and should just never be shortened Smile

passmethewineplease · 11/12/2015 09:56

Probably awful that is what it reminds me of, it's still a lovely name though.

Thanks sunshine I agree it doesn't need to be shortened at all! DD does have nickname though...ScarlyWarly but she doesn't actually get called that! Grin

celtictoast · 11/12/2015 10:29

Willow. I find Scarlett a bit harsh.

Sunshine511 · 11/12/2015 11:39

ScarlyWarly... I like it Grin x

Sophronia · 11/12/2015 12:05

Definitely Willow.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 11/12/2015 12:17

Willow

BeautifulLiar · 11/12/2015 12:27

I have a Willow. Don't like it as much as I did but her name always gets compliments. Like Scarlett but would never use it as me and DH are blushers and if we passed that on I wouldn't want the connection made to her name! Weird, I know.

lornathewizzard · 11/12/2015 12:35

I like Willow. Not so keen on Scarlett, I think it sounds a bit harsh too sorry.

wonkylegs · 11/12/2015 12:47

I have a friend whose daughters are Willow & Scarlett - I like both but slightly prefer Scarlett - sounds stronger.
